Hopefully a loss and the upcoming 6-10/7-9 record means the end of the fraud named Garrett

This Sunday is a fork in the road for Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett
https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/201...boys-head-coach-jason-garrett-ezekiel-elliott

Jason Garrett is the reigning Coach of the Year. This is an honor that was well-deserved after he navigated the Dallas Cowboys through a hectic, sometimes dramatic, 2016 season that culminated in 13 regular season wins. It bought Garrett some currency with his detractors. He’d finally done it, they said.

This season was supposed to be about Jason Garrett’s Dallas Cowboys taking the next step. A franchise quarterback, all-world running back, and the best offensive line in football figured to finally get defensive help. It was all coming together. It had shades of the 2015 season for the Cowboys, when they looked to build upon an NFC East Championship (Garrett’s first) and a should-have-been-Dez-catch moment that separated them from the NFC Championship Game...

...Who will Jason Garrett be Sunday night when the triple zeroes strike the game clock? The same old day-by-day apologist that is afforded a pardon of a particular variety, or the Dallas Cowboys head coach that defeated the odds and found a way to win the game all by himself? We’re about to find out.

hmmm...How do you think players see Garrett? The leader of a franchise headed towards greatness?

or

Jerry's puppet that is just going through the motions....that has no influence regardless how much he claps?

The one thing Jerry needs to realize...

Jason Garrett will never be Tom Landry. The moment they took away his play calling...they castrated Garrett. And that...can never be fixed. Players see through the fascade. Garrett carries no to little respect with the players. As long as this franchise has a defacto puppet as head coach...this franchise is going no where.

The worst thing that happened w/ this team was winning Super Bowl XXX. Jerry thinks he can recapture that magic. Truth is...that was still the reminesce of Jimmy's team. It was still that good...talentwise to get over the hump.

Now that the NFL is constructed to keep everyone balanced...coaching is far more important that talent. And that is the lesson that Jerry hasn't ever learned.:(

..what would you have him do!?....Run the freaking ball himself?...Catch the ball?...Throw the ball?...Play LT?...I said it before ..."it is what it is" this year...
any yes!... JG will be coaching Dallas next season....fork or no fork!...

What would I have him do?

How about make an in-game adjustment, not announce on Wednesday that you have come up with a gameplan for what your opponent did to you last Sunday.

But yes, you are correct.........Garrett's job never has been based on performance or actual results, unlike almost every other coach in the NFL.

So a loss to the Eagles means jack, Garrett will go home and sleep like a baby just like he has the last 8 seasons (1 playoff victory over this span).

Even if he wins Sunday you all will not give him credit ..

For you, he is the problem when we lose

1 playoff win over 8 years and you are crying about people not giving him credit?

Credit for what?

What are these great things we have accomplished under Garrett the past 8 years, besides 1 single victory in the wildcard round in 2014?

There's a bit of an echo chamber in here. Where else in the NFL is a guy on his last legs with a winning record heading into week 11 coming off of a 13-3 HCotY campaign?

Only in Dallas.

And Cincinnati..............every other team in the league has fired their head coaches for playoff records like Marvin Lewis and Jason Garrett

Both have won COTY, yet choke like a dog in the playoffs............Marvin has been to the playoffs more, but Garrett has a token win. Other than that, both coaches are carbon copies of each other.

Not really. They had similar starts. Jason's got a higher win percentage. And playoff wins aren't 'token.' But it's not like Marvin is the bad coach he's made out to be here when people want to compare him with Garrett. He's had a fair bit of success in a market that doesn't exactly stack the deck for coaches.

It doesn't change the fact that you guys don't know how to evaluate coaches honestly.

And I guess you do know how to evaluate coaches and the 95% of everybody else on this board, including multiple other mods, are just all stupid?

Honestly Idgit, you are better than that.

I didn't say stupid. And I'm not better than that. I 100% think you guys overreact emotionally, suffer from groupthink, and put way too much emphasis on things you hear Aikman and Buck say on game day.

I've seen board popular opinion be 100% wrong more times than I can count. Fan consensus literally means nothing to me. Everything that matters agrees with my own estimation that Garrett is actually a pretty good coach. Drafting and developing talent. Player and staff consensus. Winning percentage. Large, long extensions by management, multiple recent 12+ winning seasons, and HCotY hardware.

Why in the world would I change my mind just because the team is 5-4 and fans are angry we didn't go to Byron Bell sooner last week? The same Byron Bell that gave up sacks at a higher rate than Green did when he got into the game anyway.

I base my opinion over the entire body of work over 8 years..............I see a head coach that has won 53% of his games and one playoff win.

If that track record gets you all hot and bothered and you think Garrett is the greatest thing since sliced bread, then fine. But just because others don't agree with your opinion doesn't make "you right" and "others wrong".

I've always said the worst part about being a Cowboys fans is other Cowboys fans. It's never more obvious than in a season where things are rough. Hell half the fans said Parcells was washed up and the game passed him bye. Our fan base is the most entitled, narcissist fans in pro sports.
