This sunday might just determine our season

Honestly at 2-2 is where I figured us to be at this point. I thought we would lose at SD and OAK...and win at SF and home against the deadskins. We should be no worse that 3-1 (deadskin debacle) and could be 4-0, but on the flip side we could also very easily be 0-4. In any event its not time to panic just yet....

The loss at oakland was not a bad loss....the game was there for the taking, but that was that teams season on the line and they had to come up big and did. Also don't forget they lost to 3 good teams (@NE, KC @ PHI) all tight games as well. We just had a bad draw on the schedule getting them at 0-3.

But I will say that if we don't beat the Egirls at home we are in serious trouble (2 divisions losses at home). This is our must win and we have to prove we can beat them. I'm actually glad they won last week in KC, so they weren't sitting at 2-2 and coming off a bad road loss.

It's really simple, we win and we jump right back into the mix for the division title, first round bye, etc. We lose and we are looking at no better than a wildcard. This team has owned us and embarrassed us at home the last few years. If we are for real we come out guns firing and put it to this team early. Make no mistake the eagles are going to move the ball against us and score points....so we have to do the same. I'm a little concerned with this 'ball control' garbage for 3 quarters until we start chucking it downfield. To beat the eagles we need to air it out early and often.

I'm not sure about just this Sunday, but I do think the next two games will tell a whole lot about how our team is doing and where it's heading.

The next two games IMO are MUST win for the season to be successful. If we can beat the Giants and Eagles it will give this team a HUGE boost in confidence. The one thing I am worried about this sunday is Petiti vs Kearse, I hope to see ATrain dressed this week so he can stay in and block on 3rd downs.

I'd be thrilled beyond belief to play well enough to win 1 of the next 2 and come out of this mess at 3-3, hopefully entering a slightly easier part of the schedule.

win or lose, if we keep this game close, we have a much better shot to do well, preferrably we win ;) but as long as we give the Eagles a run for their money, I will feel alot better about our chances the rest of the way

This game will tell us a lot about our team in so many ways. Everything the team does against the Egirls should magnified, scrutinized and taken for what it is IMO.

If we can run successfully against the Egirls...we have a good running game IMO.

If we can pass successfully against them...we have a good passing game IMO.

If Bledsoe gets sacked 5 times...our OL is simply average and needs adjusting and improvement.

If they score 30 points...our defense needs adjusting and improvement and so and so on.

Like Parcells said, "You are what you are."

After this game they will know what they are...including the coaching staff.

I know every year is different but based on last year's records we've already played 3 of the 9 worst teams in the league. If we were serious playoff cotenders, we should have won all 3 of them - we only won once.

Our only saving grace was that we caught SD without Gates and before their offensive juggernaut go rolling or we'd be 1-3.

I'm still hoping for a better second half of the season once the rookies on the D get acclimated better. I predicted 9-7 at the start of the year optimistically but that was assuming we got a much better performance out of our ground game. At least Bledsoe and Glenn have been a pleasant surprise.

The next two games are NOT "Must wins". I think we have to be 4-4 heading into the bye. If we beat the Eagles I think we'll go into the by at 5-3.

The first four games have already summed up our season and will for at least 3 more weeks. We are up and down, because we play so many rookies and first year starters. In saying that we have been in every game with a chance to win each one of them. Our rookies and First year contributors are just beginning to turn the corner. Ware, Fujita, Pettiti, Polite, Davis, Shanle, James, Burnett, TT, BArber, Pile, Canty, Spears, are guys we will depend on for the rest of the season and they are just becoming totally familiar with their assignments and roles. Thats alot of players without experience and we have been able to stay in games through their mistakes, not to mention the Vets key mistakes.

We have the makings of a good team with a few tweaks here and there. My biggest disappointment would be the lack of holes for JJ to run through and the pressure that teams are getting on Bledsoe. It just seemed like last season we did a better job of keeping VINTY clean.

We may lose the next two games, but the attitude of this team has already been established and I think it shows in BP demeanor. We never quit and are able to make plays to stay in the game until the end. Philly has a more established team and I expect them to present problems, but I fully expect this team to show the Eagles a side they haven't seen in years. Thats a side of not laying down when the Eagles score. We laid down last year and it showed. We got rid of those players and this team has bought into the mental toughness BP has stressed to them. He said that close games can benefit a team and fro m being a coach, I agree. It helps especially during tourney/playoff time. There will come a time when this team will be in a MUST win situation, not week 5, down the line and each of these guys will be able to look into each others eyes and just know someone will make a play. Thats what these first four games do to teams. It happened to the Eagles when DM broke his leg and played through it. It happened to the PAts when Bledsoe went down and it damn sure happened to the Boys when Emmitt hurt his shoulder and played on.

Those type of tough situations makes a team better down the line. We are just scratching the surface to what this team will eventually become, but make no doubt about it this is not a must win game and this team will fight to the end.

If we can get to 4-4 or better somehow by mid season, I think we have very good chance at making the playoffs. I think(hope) we will do better second half of the season.

I don't buy into the "we could easily be 4-0 or 0-4." It's irrelevent. We're 2-2 and if we don't start putting more wins together than loses this season will quickly become what it has started out as.... Not good, not bad.... .500.

This game will determine if we go 2-3 after 5 games or 3-2 after 5 games nothing more than that at this stage. I will agree a loss would put a lot of pressure on the team heading into the showdown with the Giants but that is about it

I think we will head into the bye week at 4-4 with losses to the eagles/giants and wins over seattle and arizona. Lets face it folks, this team is no better then 8-8 or 9-7. And with how the division is playing so far a wild card is out of the question. Now again the season is young but how they are playing offers me very little hope. OF course if they beat the Eagles this week i will rush out and by my airline tickets to Detroit for February.

i dunno, i can’t bring myself to say that if we lose this Sunday it won’t hurt our season. I believe every game is a MUST WIN. I mean, why even show up if you can lose the game and still be ok? Do we know the future? Do we know how many games we need to win to make the playoffs? Unless you know, then every game is a MUST WIN.

If the Cowboys win this game, they are still huge players in the Playoff hunt. They lose this game, and we can hope for .500 at the best. It's that important. NFC East opponent. NFC defending champions. We lose this game and we go 0-2 in the NFC East.

I agree the game is important but I don't think it determines weather me make post season or not.

If the NFC East continues business as usual as the best division in 2005, you bet your Eli Manning it matters. NFC East games are going to matter more than they ever have before.

You just said it IF we don't know how these teams are going to fair over the course of a season and I have watched the NFL and Cowboys long enough to know that week 5 outcome is not going to determine if we make post season or not. I agree it is a big game but no it is not a situation of if we lose it is over.
