Wow! What an effort by our heros today. They took the best from the best team in football & came out on top.
Cudos to everyone. The pass rush was better than I've seen it all year. So many players were making big plays, it was amazing. Roy W. was all over the place. He even took out a couple of his own teammates...haha. Carp looked good on a couple of plays, as well as Hatch. This was the total team effort that we've been looking for. To hold the Colts to 14 pts. was a major feat. Creating all of those turnovers was the key. The coaches deserve a game ball for the schemes & game plan they came up with. They had DWare all over the place & man did he show up big time. Manning hasn't seen an attack like today for a long time.
On the offensive side of the ball, Romo just keeps getting better & better. He could have gone in the tank after the first half, but he came out in the second & showed what he's made of. This guy is going to be scary. The offensive line played one heck of a game. I saw O'linemen constantly down the field on runs, blocking on second & third levels. Columbo in particular looked much improved from the beginning of the season.
I'm so freaking excited. What gave me the most hope was at the end of the game. To stop the Colts late in the game with a 7 pt. lead was awesome, but our offense had to run out the clock. Starting at our 8 yd. line with 3 minutes to play, we could have easily gone 3 & out. Not today! The execution was great, and so was the play calling, especially that rollout pass to Fasano. Great catch on third & 7. That took some bravado. Then the slant pass to Glenn to seal the deal.
This is Cowboys' football. Driving the ball down the opponents' throat, then kneeling three times when it's all over but the crying.
I just hope the coaching staff continues to have faith in the younger players, and show bold initiative in the play calling. We just might have something this year after all.
