This Team Will Not Get Far In Playoffs

I told myself that today's game was going to determine what our team was made of....and, unfortunately, it did.

Don't get me wrong, I see a world of promise in this team. We have a solid foundation of playmakers-starting with our Pro-Bowl QB. Tony Romo is the real deal, and he will take the Cowboys to the promised land more than once. Just not this year.

This year, we have too many holes. We also have too many players who think they can just walk out onto the field with a star on their helmets & win the day. We also have a problem with the good players who work their tails off: They are given poor schemes & strategies by this coaching staff, and are expected to win with them.

My cure: Replace the players who are good with ones that are great. Adalius Thomas is a great player that comes to mind for next year. Marco Rivera is a decent player who needs to be replaced next year. If we continue this cycle throughout the team, it won't take long to finish creating a Super Bowl team.

Now, the hard part-replace the coaching staff. For the last 4-5 games, we have just looked like we don't have a clue-and we haven't had one, thanks to the coaches. Take today-please. For instance, when Jason Hatcher rushed the passer, JD Smith gave him a bump, then caught a pass dumped just over Hatcher's head. Smith didn't stop until he got inside our red zone. Later, the Eagles blitzed, with DE Trent Cole racing in from the left end. Most teams block our DeMarcus Ware with a LT when he does that. We tried to block Cole with Julius Jones. Romo almost had his head decapitated. Lucky for us it was a personal foul. I'm sure Romo didn't feel so lucky.

We have had too many games lately where you say, "Man, the other team is doing that, why can't we?".

Time for a big time change. Bring in a few special players and a coaching staff with the Jimmy Johnson school of thought. You know, "you bring your guys, and I'll bring mine, and mine will kick the **** out of yours. Someone who plays to win, not one who plays not to lose. If we get that for Christmas, we go to the show real soon. Keep the same philosophy, & we keep getting what we're getting.
