Looks like all we need is backups...WHOOP!
Too many holes for one off season

CB not convinced with Carr or Mo
LDE back up
DT 1 technique back up
RDE pass rusher
OLB Back up: Sean Lee will miss a few games
FS or SS if Byron plays SS we need a FS if he plays FS we will then need a SS
Back up QB
Back up RB
WR with speed or can win 1om 1 matchups

It's not me. I maybe once a year look at something on Reddit and only when a friend of mine sends me a link to something. Like Slashdot, too many ***hats spew complete crap on that site.

Oh, I saw that GIF on reddit the other day. I assumed that's where you got it.

In today's NFL, there are no perfect teams. Hardly any great teams. The line between good teams and bad teams is razor thin.

By the time that the season starts, if healthy, this roster is very comparable if not arguably better than the one who was a bad call away from the NFC Championship game and a 12-4 season.

This team can win it all if they stay healthy and make a couple more decent moves in free agency/the draft.

This year is all about sweating contracts - notably Romo and the coaching squad. All our offseason moves (or lack of) and all the vibes suggest this. Looks like we are planning for a major rebuilding starting in 2017. Front office won't say this as it will impact on 2016 ticket sales.

if the cowboys draft a qb at 4 and the record in 16 is bad then yes there will be a retool and rebuild of coaching staff and players. the 2016 season will all depend on the health of the team and one player if tony is hurt it will be over. because unless they find a backup qb kellen moore is the man or a drafted rookie and right now there is just not much out there in the way of backup qb.

Retool where? I agree, coaching staff will be gone. But where will we retool and rebuild? Bryant isn't going anywhere, offensive line isn't, Lawrence isn't, Gregory isn't (If he stays clean after this), Crawford no.

All that will be retooled is the secondary and D-line. There will be no rebuilding.

All teams must refurbish and plan ahead. You only get draftees 4-5 years. Every year some will be in a contract year. Injuries, suspensions, retirements etc all create holes to fill. And the cap...well....caps expenditures for resources.

Not a one year fix for what? A perfect roster? You don't need that or anything close to that to compete anymore. A pretty flawed Cowboys team was robbed of an opportunity to play in the Championship game two years ago.

You plug holes in free agency. What holes have we addressed? Only Thornton. That was very nice but instead of re-signing your blocking TE when you just invested a pick in one and bringing back JAGs like Wilber and Dunbar I'd have liked to have seen another hole or two filled.

fwiw, I'd argue that re-signing Hanna, Wilber and Dunbar did not preclude us from making any moves. I really think this just wasn't a strong free agent market...unless you wanted to overspend on a CB :D
