I am the OP and I have been a vegetarian since I was 15 years old. I'm now 41 btw. I have 3 children's who are all vegetarians since birth.
I have friends who hunt. I know very few vegetarians.
There is just something very cold about going to an animals natural wild habitat and slaughtering them in the prime of their life with an arrow. Chasing them down while they run in fear bleeding until the blood loss and pain overcomes their will to live.

Nah...the native Americans didn't kill animals for sport with tools which inflict unnecessary pain and suffering on the animals, while bypassing less painful methods, all for the purpose of having an amimals head to hang on the wall.

I happen to eat deer (venison). Lower in fat, no steroids or antibiotics...and in New Jersey, the biggest threat to a deer isn't a gun, but a Ford F150. Get off your high horse and realize that some people eat sustainable foods like deer. Deer virtually overrun my backyard every year and I have no issue taking one that will give me a meal once a week for months on end, as well as feed me a few times on the grill during the summer. At least that deer got to live a free life, unlike debeaked chickens, penned up calves that become veal, and steers led to the slaughter. The foods in the meat aisle are treated far worse than your average deer. Unless you're willing to give up all processed meats, I find your argument, um, less than compelling.
