Hey guys, I know, it's been a while, and most of y'all are probably happy about that. Well here's why my entire outlook on our beloved Dallas Cowboys has changed over the last couple of months. I'll make it brief...

Several weeks ago, my wife of 18 years was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer....This year the "PINK" awareness games will mean a complete different thing to me and my family. We've already ordered a couple Pink Jerseys. But the reason for my post is this: Every single thing about my life has been turned upside down and changed during July. Yes, including my outlook and emotions about the Cowboys. All of a sudden, what Jerry does and says, doesn't mean as much to me. Camp hasn't been as exciting or controversial for me. I don't have the energy to get fired up for a battle over who is going to be the back up to Tryon Smith. Arguing about Romo, Red, or who is going to play the Mike isn't really important to me anymore.

What is important, Telling all you guys, my Cowboys Brothers and Sisters, that life is too short to sweat the small stuff. Worry about stuff you can't change if you want, but believe me, it's really a very small part to a very real life.

Love your team, as I do. And my HOT WIFE MISTY DOES.....Or at least makes me believe she does,,,,,but put things in perspective and have a little more peace about things. It will mean more to you !!!!

Anyone who wants to shoot some prayers our way, we will gladly accept them. I have 4 kids who are all Cowoboys fans as well, and my wife is only 36 years old. Way too young for this crap....

I'll be around, just don't know how much.

GO COWBOYS!!!!!
Sorry to hear that. Good luck and best wishes.

I find that obsessing about the Cowboys takes my mind off of real world issues.

FWIW, my best friend's wife recently beat her battle with it. They had three young ones, and it was a very aggressive cancer. Hit them completely out of the blue. Her first doctor told her it was probably nothing, and she only got it diagnosed properly by insisting on a second opinion.

They're a tough family, and they pulled together and came out stronger on the other end, but it was definitely a struggle.

In short, my prayers are with your family, coultt. Give my best wishes to your wife and kids. We'll be celebrating it in your rear-view mirror this time next season.

To ANYONE, I can't stress enough the bolded part of Idgit's statement. If you can, get many opinions and do not settle for care. Doctors are not infalible and many only go by what a sympton checklist says.

My father, worked at a nuclear plant in TN. He has had 5 cancers. One was a tumor that shut off his small intestine. He was in no pain and one night he went into septic shock. He went to a local hospital and the Oncolocist (after seeing the tumor on the CT) opened him up and said "I can't do anything for him, the tumor has grown around arteries." Sewed him up and said "he has 24-48 hours." My sister and Brother-in-law got him transferred to Vandy that night. Next morning the surgeon re-opened him, we wen't to grab a bite to eat, literally before the appetizers were to the table, the surgery center called and said "He's out and recovering" 7 years later, he is cancer free.

The point is, never take any bad news as finite, never stop fighting, and by all means DO SOME RESEARCH YOURSELF AND ASK QUESTIONS.

I am praying for you, your wife and kids, coult. My sister is currently undergoing chemo after a full mastectomy, which means I am at higher risk for developing breast cancer one day. Watching her go through this, I know how difficult it is for you at this time. Hang in there. And even though this puts things in perspective, don't feel guilty about partaking of our beloved Cowboys through it all. The Dallas Cowboys are our escape from life's troubles. Again, you are in my prayers.

Holy cow. This is a great and terrible story. Really glad to hear he's well.

My own father's cancer was misdiagnosed as 'depression.' It was a cancer that was terminal before it was symptomatic, so the result of the misdiagnoses was that he didn't fret a few extra months before the end, but had there been time to operate, I'm not sure what I would have done about the misdiagnosis.

And, yeah. Doctors are smart people. They're body-mechanics. It's a tough job, and they are far from perfect. Question everything and get multiple opinions.

First and foremost the prayers are already sent. I am very sick of that disease. Please kick its ***! As far as football, honestly I have friends that are 30+ year fans like myself that have just about lost interest due to the owner and his coach. I have to say the last few years I could even feel my own interest and passion fading for this team. The bright side of that is I do not feel sick about them all week after their losses as I am not surprise by them no matter how ridiculous they are because I have no faith in this regime. Now back to real life. All you can do is be there for everyone. Along the way make sure you have your own people to talk to. I have watched my best friend go through a 2 plus year ordeal with his wife and it kicked both of their ***** and thank goodness she is recovering! But I kept telling him, don't feel guilty to go grab a beer with a friend from time to time. It will keep you from crumbling and with everyone needing you it can be overwhelming. Best of luck and health for you and your wife.

Thank you for sharing. I send a special prayer for your darling Wife, and also to yourself...

My wife and I were in Germany, when a problem showed. Their Doctors incorrectly diagnosed.

We went to a military facility at Fort Knox, Ky, when the diagnosis of breast cancer entered our world as well.

My wife, Ann, courageously walked the path. She even was used as a 'guinea pig' at James Brown Cancer Center, and was give the then experimental drug, tamoxifin. She took it for five years, and received the real dosages during the experiment. It later received authorization by the FDA and now is used in treatment.

I'll never forget her first tears, when the chemo therapy caused her hair to come out in her brush for the first time....

I understand the challenges of your and her path. Chin up, friend...oh, and Ann has been a survivor now for 21 years now.

Good luck, and take cheer through it. Our love and prayers will be with the two of you.

Praying for you man.
My mom just beat cancer this year, and the treatments they have now are top notch. Your wife will be just fine!

Sidenote: you should read as much as you can about natural ways to make the body uninhabitable for cancer cells. You'd be surprised at how effective this will be in preventing anything from coming back after she beats it the first time.

Google: cure cancer naturally
Plant based diet... Cancer
Dairy products.... Cancer

Watch the "Hungry for Change" series of documentaries on Netflix.

Feel free to Private message if you'd like more info on research I've already done. I really truly hope things work out well for you and your family.
