You think we'd cut BarberIII and keep Thompson? TT looks explosive - special - BarberIII looks like a plugger....

I think Barber is the surprise cut of this year's camp. He's cleary fourth in the RB pecking order, and we can't justify keeping four running backs, IMO. Maybe his injury will enable us to stash him on IR, but I don't see him making the 53-man roster.

Thompson is special, no doubt about it. I would be an unhappy camper if Dallas dumps him.

Barber is a great back also, I followed him all through college.

If one had to go, I'd release Barber, but I prefer we keep both.

You don't cut a 4th round draft. If you put him on the practice squad he is gone immediatley.

I think we will keep both, but would rather cut Thompson. He has a lot of speed, but hasnt shown that he can make the other team miss. He also hasnt really shown anything kick returning. Barber has been fumbling, but wasnt known as a guy who fumbles in college. Barber hasnt shown anything kick returning either.

Keep both, JJ runs with such reckless abandon, he may go down and we will need the back ups...

perhaps they IR Barber as an out given his foot surgery...

I rather cut the A-train than let either one of these two guys go at this point. I know they are rookies but you dont want to make a move that you will regret later.

Why not put MBIII on PUP and delay the decision until 6 weeks into the season. That would give us an opportunity to see how good TT really is in real games. If he's good, then MBIII becomes trade bait for some team who's RB has suffered a season ending injury. If he doesn't pan out bring MBIII back to the 53 man roster and try to waive TT and get him on the PS or trade him if he has any value.

IR would be okay with me too. We just couldn't bring him back this year, could we?

I prefer to go with 4 RBs, 1 FB and 3 TE's (plus long-snapper) to start the season.

Trade Bait???? He's a 4th round draft choice who shared playing time as at U of Minn.

I root for the rookies as much as anyone, but the idea of jumping through hoops for MBIII is crazy. Just cut him and practice squad him. Tyson Thompson is my guy after Saturday's performance.

Thats not how the PUP list is used. Its only for injuries before they reported to camp, once they report and pass their physical they have to either make the team, get cut with or without an injury settlement, or be put on the IR for the whole season.

Cutting Barber or Thompson would be so stupid, its hard to fathom anyone going there.

Keep both. Watch if we let one of em go. They'll be some star in the NFC. & Kick our *** when we face em...

I keep both. Honestly, I haven't seen enough from either to feel comfortable, but I actually feel more comfortable with Barber than Thompson. Both played against scrubs, but Barber's (slight) success was up the middle a bit more. Thompson, who uses his speed on the edge, is just not gonna make it look so easy against starters.

JMO - hopefully I am wrong - but every preseason has two or three players that everyone thinks is 'special' only to be cut later. I will remain skeptical until I see it during the season.

Keep both we probably aren't going to keep the A train after this season anyway. If Barber develops thats one less postion we have to worry about next year. I don't like the thought of helping out the eagles either. They are talking about signing Levens if we cut Thomas, Thompson or Barber they are surely to pick that player up.

In my opinionm Barber makes the team. I like the TT story but at the end of the day we have seen a couple of caries in two preseason games. Barber is the real deal. If you eliminate the fumbles everyone was happy with his game from Seattle.
