I'd like to see him continue to do well. But I think when he faces real competition, we'll se why he went undrafted. I would definately put him below Barber and thomas.

The guy was one of the top backs coming out of high school. He signed with TCU but did not qualify and ended up going to JUCO. Afterwards he ended up at SJSU. I think he had a few screwup ands and that's why he went undrafted.

Not sure where I would put him, since I haven't seen him with my own two peepers yet. But if reports we're getting so far are true, BP may find a way to keep him. Already, he's floating the idea that he won't keep a true FB, which would free up a spot to carry an extra HB. Can't see why Thompson wouldn't be in the mix. Especially since he may be able to return kicks.

On a related note, I think A-train is going to be in tough to make this team. Both Thompson and Bickerstaff represent the "change of pace" that BP is looking for, and they bring something on special teams too (not to mention, in the case of Bickerstaff, versatility). And that's not even mentioning that A-train's salary would be guaranteed if he is on the roster as of week 1 (which I don't believe holds true in the case of the pups).

We'll see. But from where I sit, A-train is more likely to go than Thompson if BP ends up being faced with a tough cut to make.

That is a rare combination of size and speed. Reports have indicated that he is elusive too. Some have compared him to Lee but I am not sure that is a fair comparison plus Lee wasn't that fast. I just don't think you want to expose him to the Practice Squad. He makes the team.

I wonder about his hands because that is good size for a WR. Hmmm.

While I haven't seen any of these guys run yet, I'm having a hard time agreeing with the sentiment that Bickerstaff will make the team over A-Train.

Wasn't BP just talking about moving him to FB? Which would indicate to me that he may have lost a step with the injury. Then I'm also pretty sure BP said that he didn't know if he had a FB on the roster or if he would keep one.

I think Bickerstaff is the odd man out here, A-train is still a good back and it sounds like he has been doing well in practice.

I think Thompson and Barber are too good to put on the practice squad. I guess we will see soon enough how these guys do in live action.

Reports are indicating that Thompson is pushing Barber for a roster spot.

Man, if you would of told me that a week ago, I would have thought you were crazy.

And then they played the game.

I'm going to wait before I anoint TT a playa. A lot to be decided between scrimmages and preseason games.

A-Train makes this team. He has experience (which Parcells wants) and can be a bruising back, more of the change-of-pace back Bill is looking for.

A few fumbles in camp would put you in BP's doghouse pretty quick. No way Barber gets cut though, or practice squad unless just totally awful. Thompson,Thomas and Bick - 1 of those 3 are out and my pref. is Bikerstaff. Te's will play an H-back role instead of a true FB and Thomas,Barber and Thompson will get the type of action Richie got in BP's offense.

TT is fast.
Not just fast but world class fast.
He is by far the fastest back we have and possibly the fastest player on the team.

He is not extremely skilled as a blocker, pass catcher or anything else but he can tote the football. He's a similar physical specimen to Randal Williams except he gets handed the ball.

TT is going to make this team because he is our most explosive back. Not 4.5 explosive but 4.3 explosive.

The college(San Jose St if memory serves correct) coach said teams just ganged up on him because they didn't have much else but that he was by far their best player. He expects him to excel in the NFL.

RB: Julius
Barber
TT

FB A-Train

Bickerstaff is a real long shot and TT just punched his ticket home IMHO.

BP isn't gonna give up[ on aproven vet like Thomas who was added because everyone else is so young.

Barber and Thompson make the 53 man roster, they would never make it to the practice squad.

Does A-train have any exposure to the fullback position? How about blocking other than passive third down blocks from the tailback position? That could go a long way towards determining if he would make a serviceable fullback.

BP has already mentionned using A-Train in the old Richie Anderson role which was called fullback but was really big 1 back sets.

BP doesn't really want a traditional fullback as we know them claiming that he longs for a time when fullbacks were all around players not wrecking balls. He has stated he may not keep any fullbacks.

We were planning to use the 2 TE set last season as the base offense and plan to do so again this year. BP simply loves Campbell and Witten too much to have them sitting for many plays at a time.

When BP moves a guy like Bickerstaff it means he has already lost out at another position and is just trying to see if he can be used elsewhere.

I know BP figured Barber and Thompson are similar guys and would prefer one of them and a bigger goal line type back but the talent is gonna win out over roles provided guys can get plays and Barber/Thompson can be the kickoff returners as well as cover kicks.

Jerry Jones doesn't bring up a guy's name if he hasn't been discussed by the coaches in meetings.

Thompson's best shot is for kick returner.

I don't think he has enough to oust either Thomas or Barber as a back up.

Coach Parcells outlined what he wanted from his RB stable the other day...

The starter (Jones)
The pass receiver/change up (Barber)
The banger/special teamer (Thomas)

Not alot of room at the Inn.

hes the perfect solution at KR and i think thats why he will most likely makethe roster, he will probably get a couple shots at the RB spot, and could impress, but I think his impact this year will be almost all on special teams.

We'll have to wait and see. I know it will be nice to have a little depth at RB, too bad we can't have it at other places.

Let's tap the brakes on Thompson, we haven't even played a game!. A lot going to depend on how well he picks up the Blitz and how are his hands?. And are we sure he's not going to be overwhelmed?, TT only played 2 years at a JC and 2 years at San Jose St He sure sounds like Rashard Lee to me!. :trophy: :iggles: :suxiggle: :disseags:

Randal Williams was real fast and looked good in TC........I do, however, like this kid.
