Brandon Marshall-WR- Broncos Mar. 24 - 8:56 am et

Coach Pete Carroll admitted that there has been some "very preliminary" talk between the Seahawks and restricted free agent Brandon Marshall's player rep.

The Seahawks would have to hammer out an extension with the disgruntled receiver and then work out a trade with the Broncos. Seattle, of course, has already hosted Marshall on a visit and ESPN's John Clayton has reported that the Broncos will wait until the draft to trade him. Marshall is seeking a long-term deal and would likely command around $10 million a season.

"looks like seattle will get him" is drawn from "very preliminary talk"?

If Marshall goes to Seattle, Denver takes Dez Bryant, so we can all stop talking about him.

bull.

the "we must have" crowd will simply divert the scenario to something else. usually involving a trade of roy wiliams/barber/adams <player to be mad at later>

people get infatuated and lose all sight of realistic scenarios.

Good luck to Seattle if they get him. They will wreck the rest of their team for the next few years by signing him to a long term deal. They already are paying a #1 WR in TJ Housh and now they want to pay another #1 WR in B. Marshall... Not smart to put such a large chunk of your future salary cap into one position @ two players.

Well those will happen no matter what. Dallas could march to a 14-2 record next season and be on their way to a possible Superbowl run and we'll still sees threads throughout the season complaining about what Jerry didn't do.

That's going to happen no matter what so it's best to not even worry about that. :)

Why do you have such low expectations? :laugh2:

According to coach Pete Carroll, new Seahawks OC Jeremy Bates' presence makes the team more comfortable with its pursuit of Brandon Marshall.

Bates and Marshall allegedly had a "great" relationship in Denver, when Bates was the Broncos' playcaller. QBs coach Jedd Fisch was also on Denver's staff. "We have a lot of information and background with him," Carroll added. "Those guys all know him, so they give us unique insights...to understanding how he could fit into the offense and what he could do in helping us."

It is likely gonna happen. Seattle has two first rounders, moving the lower one for Marshall.

Don't stop at just trade scenarios. The "must have crowd" rarely denies themselves the opportunity of reliving the, "player who got away" rant. Lately, it's been about Chris Johnson. It makes a person wonder when some folks will ever decide for themselves to get a grip on that nonsense, since the logic of reading, "He ain't here, so get over it" has no effect upon quelling the insanity whatsoever.

I just heard locally (the Fan) that he signed with Denver yesterday.

Prima-donna, head case, self-absorbed, WR's are getting the snub these days. I like that trend.
