Josh (Winston Salem, NC): The Professional: Some people have suggested Torry Holt to Dallas is a good move, but I don't see it happening. What do you think?

Matt Mosley: There's not much interest right now. They want to develop these young guys like Miles Austin.

Since that is what was said when TO was released, that is exactly what I would have expected.

If not for injury, the development of Austin and Hurd would be further along. They have both shown a little something, especially Austin.

Considering Jerry emphatically stated that he released TO to give the young guys a chance to develop, to even suggest that he would sign him would make Jerry the ultimate idiot as far as marketing his move to release TO goes....

But we're still gonna draft one on the first day too. Possibly in the 2nd.

Wouldn't that slow down there development?

Hurd can't get any separation. Hemay be effective in the timing-based offense, considering he runs crisp routes and has good hands. He will be done fast, if protection can't be sustained for Romo and Romo has to keep plays alive with his feet.

If we were going to sign a veteran WR I would prefer it to be Marvin Harrison. Partly for depth but mostly as a mentor to the young WRs on how to run routes properly.

That said, I don't see us signing any WR over 30 and likely we will just look to the draft for another guy.

i think i like torry holt better than harrison, harrison has lost more than a step, he was involved in a shooting incident not too long ago,

holt is a little younger and maybe can help us like you said teach the young wrs what it takes to win a super bowl since holt was in a super bowl and won one

I'm reasonably sure they arnt going to make any move on a veteran until during or after preseason, when they see how the guys we have are doing.

We might draft a guy this month, but a medium to high priced veteran probably would be a last resort.

I doubt it.

Unless someone falls we really like and we want to trade up into the 2nd round. But I doubt that also.

That is stretching the story a little.

I think it is a good idea, I think Dallas has to see what we got as far as WR, I could us also drafting another guy in the later rounds.

I think any WR we draft will have to be able to contribute on STs, specifically as a punt and/or kick off returner.

In fact, the WR may initially be drafted more as a KR/PR and secondly as a WR who we develop over the next couple of years.

Kind of like when he released TG and when they didn't produce last year he ended up trading for RW......
