Thoughts about the Giants

I get to see the majority of Giants games being from NYC, have a good handle of their strengths and weaknesses:

-Giants biggest offensive weapon is Daniel Jones legs. Majority of their big plays come from him running, not passing the football.

-Barkley is slowly coming back from knee surgery, last week was by far his best game of the season

-Their TE has elite speed, but struggles badly with drops, especially in crucial times.

-Have a lot of talent at WR, but have some injuries and still trying to get on the same page.

-OL is still a big issue for them, but not their former #4 pick Thomas, having a strong season.

-Defense has played a lot of soft zone coverage.

-Run defense not as strong without Tomlinson and now Martinez. DE's are real power players.

-Struggle generating any pressure, outside of their rookie Ojulari.

-Outside corners are good.

-Kicker is real good, had a very long streak broken last week with conversions.

-Judge has been real conservative this season.

Thanks. I think its time to start Schultz in my fantasy league.

The Cowboys will not lose this game...not a gimmie, they will win this game. On a mission.

Fully expect a heavy does of run by NY, Cowboys will have to sure up the middle and I think we see a bit more man with strong safety playing closer to the line. Kearse has been doing outstanding job when asked to bring run support.

My thought as well, and if the outside corners are having a good game we will see Schultz involved as well as whoever we rotate into the slot.

Here is how I look at it:

#1: we will beat the breaks off the Giants and it won’t be competitive in the 4th quarter

#2: Garrett sucks

#3: Garrett sucks

#4: did I say Garrett sucks? Well if I didn’t, here goes

Garrett sucks
I like how people keep saying that but the Dallas Cowboys have had some couple good years with Garrett everyone who says we win despite him I’m sorry that’s just a crap we also are getting around here with Mike McCarthy there the head coaches theyre part of the wins and losses just like the players.

So if you actually check the office right now for the Giants it’s not really their major issue I mean I’m sure you can find fault with it but Calen more has twice the talent that Garrett has right now

This defense will not let the game be lost. Not this defense...

Tell ya what, since you wanna make things up, let's make a little challenge out of it.

If you can prove that I blame Dak for loses (I don't) i'll delete my account

If you can't then you delete yours.

I'm kinda tired of getting lumped in with the people that actually do put w/l on the QB simply because I offer criticism every now and then when it's warranted.

So, let's see what you're made of. Put your account where your mouth is. Deal?

Or.... You can apologize and we can move on. Easy enough, right?

Nice try, I've been a lurker for years and am well versed on your post. It's also perfect that your profile and past post are shielded from certain members so I really can't look your past up, and honestly don't really want to...

Weak, but expected.

Think next time before you make things up, because I'll call ya out on it.

I would agree, except for this past Sunday. Finally he let the horses run and got Barkley out in space….finally. I hope that wasn’t a one and done thing.

That's Garrett's MO... He will listen to the fans/media criticism for a game or 2 and then revert back to his old ways.

Playing to the level of your competition can be a real thing. This is usually the case during divisional games. Records can go out the window. This is how upsets happen. This brings us to the 1st place Cowboys versus the last-place Giants next Sunday. These teams know each other. The Giants having the Cowboys former HC as their OC, you'd think might be an advantage for the Giants. They split the two games they played each other last year. The Giants even finished ahead of the Cowboys in the final standings. So this season we need to be aware anything is possible when playing a divisional opponent. The Giants showed they can beat a better team on the road when they beat the Saints last week. We need to not think this game will be so easy. If we play to the level of our competition, anything can happen.

Honestly, one game isn’t enough for me either. I will give Garrett his due for last Sunday, but I hope he realizes now, we can’t just play to score 17-20 points and count on our defense to hold the opposition to less. Our defense has taken a step back…I think losing Tomlinson was bigger than we thought. And now we lost Martinez for the year. So, the offense has to score 28 or more to win. I’m pretty sure 28 won’t be enough to win this Sunday…38 might. I seriously doubt we hold your boys under 30.

As for Garrett, I still don’t trust him and don’t want him….but I will be open minded and watch closely to see if he has changed his approach. This is 2021 and we now have great toys for our QB to play with in Barkley, Golladay, Toney, Ross, and Shepard. (I can’t put Engram in that list…he breaks my heart too often.) If Garrett continues to open things up, I suppose i could live with him a bit longer.

Fair enough man. Appreciate your class shown here. I try and keep up with division rivals and in the back of my mind I can't stop thinking Kitchens is basically waiting in the batter's box as the potential OC.

If Garrett somehow has re invented his long held philosophies of just beat your man and/or just out execute them regardless of which opponent, scheme or gameplan and hugely lacking on any modern route tree concepts I will be the first to humbly congratulate you.

I just have a really hard time of picturing any type of wholesale transformation like this having taken place. I mean I guess it's possible. But I doubt it.

Appreciate your posts again.

thank you for your kind words…..back at you!
I’m actually enjoying dialog here much more than “back home.” Every thread was always being turned into -dump GETTLEMAN or dump Jones or dump Garrett or trade Barkley. It became very difficult to just talk football. Of course I understand passionate fans are just frustrated, especially when it’s been going on for almost 10 years, with the last 5 years being horrific.

But you mentioned Freddie Kitchens, and I too was thinking somebody is going to be let go in order to show the fans management is doing something. The logical person In my opinion would be Garrett. Thus, Kitchens could step up to the podium and show the whole world the Giants offense, especially Daniel Jones, are not as bad as they look. It’s all Jason Garrett’s fault! Lol

And then Sunday happened and the Giant offense is unleashed- Saquon, Golladay, Toney, and Ross- all rise up and deliver in big ways. Say what? This was supposed to be Garrett’s last game as OC…..and then this! So here we are, still standing at the crossroads. Several Cowboy fans here are telling me what happened Sunday is a one and done thing. You guys know him better, so I’m listening and still not believing in him…..but, Sunday is another game. Let’s see if we can build on last week or will his game plan revert to button hooks? Maybe his previous game plans were vanilla because he didn’t trust our OL giving Jones time and he was concerned about turnovers. I can’t blame him for thinking that….but at some point, you do have to let them play.

Man, Sunday can’t get here fast enough. Even if your boys win, I hope at the very least our offense shows up to exchange punches with your great offensive machine. 38-35

Thanks again 75 for listening and the kind words….may both teams stay healthy after Sunday..

Back at cha. You were a class act in sharing opinions here.
I am intrigued by all your potential observations bearing fruit or will it be a case of reverting back to factory default settings in the case of your OC.
However this ultimately turns out this season likely determines Garrett's future for years to come.
