Thoughts about the Giants

possibly but i believe 4 games in 2- b2b games at home that emotion is leveling off , rearview mirror..after some of those runs Sunday, i believe its 100% stored away now..

hey if that inspiring great we could use it..hopefully NY says something dumb in the media to fire us up..:):flagwave:

we must be prepping for NE, NE on the road against a team that just slowed down and at times confused brady, add weather..hard to not look ahead..dak did not play well there in 19..btw that bit unfair we have to travel there twice in row..hmm
Giant game is way more important to win.

Ha. Yeah.

Same as Parsons lacked maturity and football instincts.

Dallas was never looking at him anyway. They were 100% fixated on CB after missing Surtain and Horn.
Absolutely, they would of even passed Moehrig to draft a corner.

Here is how I look at it:

#1: we will beat the breaks off the Giants and it won’t be competitive in the 4th quarter

#2: Garrett sucks

#3: Garrett sucks

#4: did I say Garrett sucks? Well if I didn’t, here goes

Garrett sucks

Not so fast, amigo. Washington’s highly rated front only got one sack and New Orleans’ highly rated defense didn’t get any.

Now I admit, they have not been able to sustain a running game but I think most of that is because Saquon Barkley has been coming back from a brutal injury and had no preseason. You could see how tentative he has been hitting the holes….but, there has been improvement each week. Barring injury, he should almost be at 100% by game 8. So, I think the OL, despite losing several players (Gates, Lemieux, Bredeson) have been holding their own.

I don’t really know how strong your defensive front is but do you believe your front is better than WFT?
Of course not. Their DL against the run is miles better than ours. It's not even close. Pass rush wise they are better also, but it's pretty close right now. You are focusing on sacks only with the first part of your comment, not overall DL play. We have more speed in the pass rush than they do with Parsons and Gregory and a few of our inside guys like Osa have some quickness for inside guys as well. Solder and Price are going to struggle IMO and Price was horrible against Wash which you left out. We never seem to get enough sacks against the Giants so who knows but I think we will get a lot of pressures

I’m disturbed that this fanbase doesn’t see what a well coached team looks like. Like I’ve said in other threads, Garrett has this fanbase looking for flaws in McCarthy that simply every head coach does. I mean I see it every week there’s head coaches, some who people LOVE go out there unprepared with crappy coaching.

What it comes down to is fans due to how this organization runs itself have no idea who does what. Instead of admitting their ignorance they chose arrogance.
This fanbase looks for flaws everywhere.

I would agree, except for this past Sunday. Finally he let the horses run and got Barkley out in space….finally. I hope that wasn’t a one and done thing.

with JG it’s likely a 1 and done…

They ended the Boys slim playoff chances last year. Revenge?

But just when you think things are going good, beware of the division
game syndrome and the chance to knock off America's Team once more.

Carolina scared us for a half, it wasn't over till it was over.

The '21 version has instilled some optimism in us and spirits are high.
Just about everything is different with this team for the good.
Theoretically, on paper and based on current performances, I see the Boys
putting up points in the high 20's-mid 30's, which should be enough if
they play their game for 60 minutes. That's one side of the coin.

Good luck go Boys

Jones isn't the easiest guy to sack, and he saves them a lot with his legs, but yeah if they pressure him and take swipes at the ball, he often cooperates by putting it on the ground.

I would have Jaylon spy him like they did against Hurts and didnt appear to do against Darnold.

On their offfense, Thomas is incrementally getting better at LT but still has a little trouble with speed off the edge so Quinn could probably come up with something there.

Interior wise, their G-C-G combo of Brededson Price Hernandez represents 2 recent practice squad snatches from other teams and an underachiever after a promising rookie year in Hernandez.

Odiggy might have some success on the inside.

I'm manning Diggs wide on Golladay.
Shepard against Brown has me thinking Shep has the upper hand there.
Although Engram has played well against the Cowboys at times, his entire body of work while with the Giants is associated with frequent dropsies.

Saquon is a beast in space but often dances way too much behind the line instead of hitting the hole and taking what is there.
He is a legit home run threat in open field though.
Daniel Jones has some pretty good wheels the Cowboys gotta watch for like Hurts and he's a much more gifted passer than Jalen, his accurate deep ball is a particular strong trait.

On their defense, Leonard Williams may cause some interior discomfort at the first level but their back end with Bradberry, Adoree Jackson McKinney and Logan Ryan have all come up small this year compared to their promising potential last year.

I like how all of Dallas's current pass catchers are playing but recognize the names in the Giant secon dary but like I said they have under achieved this year imo.

Overall,
With the right coaching/game plan I just think this year's version of Dallas is a 2 score(maybe even more) superior team than this Giant opponent.

Division rival and all that I know. But if Dallas loses to this team it would seriously alter my perception of what I thought this Dallas team is.

This is the beginning of the hype machine for our Boys. Four of their next five opponents have just 1 win - NYG (1-3), NE (1-2), MIN (1-3), DEN (3-0), ATL (1-3) & they'll be favored against them all.

I get to see the majority of Giants games being from NYC, have a good handle of their strengths and weaknesses:

-Giants biggest offensive weapon is Daniel Jones legs. Majority of their big plays come from him running, not passing the football.

-Barkley is slowly coming back from knee surgery, last week was by far his best game of the season

-Their TE has elite speed, but struggles badly with drops, especially in crucial times.

-Have a lot of talent at WR, but have some injuries and still trying to get on the same page.

-OL is still a big issue for them, but not their former #4 pick Thomas, having a strong season.

-Defense has played a lot of soft zone coverage.

-Run defense not as strong without Tomlinson and now Martinez. DE's are real power players.

-Struggle generating any pressure, outside of their rookie Ojulari.

-Outside corners are good.

-Kicker is real good, had a very long streak broken last week with conversions.

-Judge has been real conservative this season.

Yep, they are going to lose and lose badly.

Min and Denver are the only two that have an outside chance. Lets say they split those for arguments sake. Cowboys are 7-2 and steamrolling.

NFC East is in the bag and now it becomes a matter of home field for the playoffs. Only injuries can derail this train now.

What do you think the Cowboys game plan will be against them when the Giants are on offense?

They are 5 points scored away from being 3-1 so you can't take the Giants lightly. Jones isn't playing badly and Barkley is being brought along slowly. Offensively it's the Giants OL that will determine this game as Dallas has been getting a lot of pressure on opposing QB's.
We all know what the Giants will do offensively because Garrett is there offensive coach. The Giants do have weapons but hopefully we get some guys back on the defensive end.

Try to take away the run and force Daniel Jones to drive the whole field.
This game will be emotional for Dak. I hope he does not play like Brady did against the Patriots. What are the Giants players saying about the matchup? The guy who broke Dak’s ankle felt real bad about it.

Oops, finally I think Solder @ their RT can be exploited as well as his performance appears to have declined drastically from previous years.

The loss of Blake Martinez, their best LB, further creates serious run game matchups in the Cowboys favor as well.

The Giants have played Den, WFT, ATL and NO. I would say they haven’t played a team with a strong offense. Their defense is facing the first test of an offense strong in both the run and pass.

I think they're pretty bad.

One of my best friends is my football nemesis. He's both a Giants and Alabama fan. Can't stand his fan bases and he's typically full of vim, vigor and swagger.

Even he admits this year that the Giants are...bad.

I mean, they could still win. Rivalry is a rivalry. But, I'll take my chances on talking smack.
