Thoughts on 2016 and looking ahead

My thoughts on 2016 and looking ahead preparing for the Draft and needs:

1) Ezekiel Elliot, RB Ohio St (Cowboys pick First Round at #6)

2) Conner Cook, QB Michigan St (Cowboys 2nd Round pick will require a tradeup
into the 1st round pick 20 to 25 cost both
2017 2nd and 4th Round picks)

3) Sterling Shepard, WR Okla (playmaker with 4.4 speed and nice compliment to
Dez on outside; Steve Smith similar)

4) KeiVaree Russell, CB Notre Dame (secondary playmakers needed)

5) Brian Poole, CB Florida (secondary playmakers needed)

6) Terrance Smith, OLB/ILB Florida St (Linebacker playmakers needed)

Improves the back 7 and allows Byron Jones to focus as a Safety.

I don't think we need to move up to get Connor Cook, not in the first round. Besides, I think he'll be available in the second.
And as much as I love Ezekiel Elliott, not at #6. Trade down. You can get a defensive player and Derrick Henry in the second round.

Big difference in Elliott and Henry at the next level

Have to be in the top 12 to land Elliott not Henry (more bust potential)

Henry stock will be inflated based on CFB playoffs and how far Bama goes in these,playoffs if he has good games

When the Vikings traded up for Bridgewater it only cost a 4th. If we are picking in the top 6 I dont think we would have to give up too much to move back into the first and get a QB.
