OK....before you start...those of you NOT draft buffs move on! This is for those that enjoy the draft and like to look at prospects towards the end of the college season. Many of you do not like to do this which I respect, so for those please respectfully move on.

Who has watched him?

I honestly do not think we will have a chance at Leihart, Quinn, or Young if they come out this year. This kid looks to be a prototypical BP type QB with some mobility! Smart, great arm, mobile....

thoughts?

STRENGTH 7 out of 10
ATHLETICISM 7 out of 10
XFACTOR 8 out of 10

EXCHANGE VALUE
70.5 Pros: Prototype size; has got a great arm that can make any (I mean any) throw; tough pocket passer who will stand inside the pocket until the last moment to make the throw, great mechanics with a compact release and good holding and releasing points, does a good job of going through his progressions, has great mobility and can do damage with his feet when needed (averaged 350 rushing yards a year in his career), very durable, good accuracy, has carried the very limited Vanderbilt team on his back and led them to a great 4-0 start this year; amazing leader who was named Team Captain 3 times, can make an accurate throw on the run; has lots of experience starting at QB for 4 years
Cons: Sometimes forces throws into coverages; needs some work on his deep ball accuracy, footwork could use improvement, his stats do not pop out but that is because he has played with almost no help on offense, can take unnecessary risks

I've only watched him in one game (Florida) he was VERY acurate and mobile for a guy his size. He would be great to bring him in ,let him sit a year behind Bledsoe and then let him compete the following year.

Parcells will NOT spend a day one pick on a QB as long as we have Bledsoe.

At some point we will have to....look how long we went from Aikman to finally a decent QB in Bledsoe. Drew is not a spring chicken and not mobile at all. Bledsoe will start for at least two more years, but it seems to take 2 full years to develop a young QB.

You may be right, but if we don't I will continue to be concerned about the future of this team.

I only watched this guy play two times and the game against Florida I remember the most. He really shows alot of poise, pocket presence, and a very accurate and strong arm.......

I would be excited to see him with a star on his helmet!

I would absolutely love for us to draft and try to groom a qb like Cutler but it won't happen.

Hasn't Parcells talked numerous times about how he wanted to leave this organization in better shape than he found it? After upgrading the entire defense and the RB corps with youth and talent, all he really has left is QB, WR and a couple of spots on the line. Despite the amount of week-to-week criticism he receives, he's done a good job of upgrading the talent base (with a couple of notable misses, like Rogers. Even Jimmy drafted Bill Musgrave and Curvin Richards on the first day though). I wouldn't be surprised to see Parcells draft a QB to groom in the next year or so... much like he drafted Pennington in NY.

I usually follow the draft pretty closely, but am only getting into now because of a busy year. So, I wouldn't classify myself as a draftnik. That said, on the surface Cutler appears to be someone with good potential.

Have not seen him, but I know he has the potential to be a real good qb in teh NFL. If Parcells thinks he is it, draft him, even if it means 1st rd pick. I just want to have some kind of backup plan for Bledsoe, BP is gonna send henson and romo to europe becaues theyre finished.

god how i hope you are wrong. BP is through with the Henson project, which was probably all JJ anyways, I think he is ready to finish off the offense and get a young QB a WR and some OL. Then our team would be set for a long time.

Sorry Bro, but the kid looks like a cross between Happy Gilmore and Forest Gump. Not to mention the fact that he's running scared without a mouthguard. He's gonna get one of those mouth full of teeth introductions from an NFL Linebacker. Kidding aside, how do we get you on the Boys draft team, cuz he looks like a great second round steal and hey, he looks good in NIKE. :)

While I have not seen Cutler play, I do like what I have heard about him. I am also 100% for drafting a young QB to groom. I have grown tired of all the gambles on former baseball players and undrafted FA's. Not to knock either Romo or Henson because I would love for either of them to emerge as the next great Dallas QB but, my doubts are growing.

All that said, from everything I am hearing about Cutler rising up draft boards, I think we would have to use our 1st rounder to get him.

I love the guy. Any player who almost single-handly lifted Vandy to respectability has got to be a pretty good player.

I have said many times for this franchise to be successful long-term we must developa young QB to build this franchise upon. Cutler very well could be that player.

most may disagree but i'm not so sold on lienart. i like cutler 2nd most of the possible qb's with quinn #1. don't care for jacobs at all, and in the right system matt may be fine but i just don't see much zip on his pases. the nfl is no place for touch passers all the time

Living here in Nashville got a chance to see him play several times and have read most of the PR on him in the press. The one thing they keep saying about him is that he has a Big Time cannon of an arm and can make every NFL throw. ALso, he has the ability to put enough finess on the ball to make the touch passes. A team leader with tons of upside.

Most say he would be about two years away from being an NFL starter after being drafted.

Sounds like the perfect fit behind Bledsoe........

How is his mobility? It appears he moves around really well...averages 350 yards rushing per year. I don't care much about that stat other then it shows he NOT a statue...and has ability to move around in the pocket and run if needed.

Has there ever been an NFL QB from Vanderbilt? At least he played in a real conference and not against patty cake schedules like other high ranking QBs that might come out.

Couldn't agree more.

I have to admit that I am a bit jealous looking at teams like the Steelers and Giants who are seemingly yet for the next decade at arguably to most important position on the field.

I've seen him twice this season. After seeing him in the game against South Carolina, I was almost convinced. Then seeing him against the gators I was sold. Hopefully Jerry and Bill will be in a position to buy in the second round!!
