Thoughts on Kitna's play last night?

He looks like a decent backup QB to me.

Despite the pick (at least it was a chance at a huge play too, and wasn't a lame duck throw - decent play by db), despite the fumbled snap, and despite the high snap (which he did a good job of recovering).

I thought he looked sharp. Up tempo, good zip on the ball, and most importantly, was a commanding precense on the field. He looked confident and intense. The team lacks intensity at times, so I like a QB who has that. He has some speed and touch on his throws still. Doesn't look like he's in his late 30's out there at all. I think he could be perfect back up for a few seasons.

This team does need a few ***-chewer players though. Bit uninspired at times.

What length of contract did Kitna sign?

I thought he looked pretty good. Even that pick was a pretty throw and was right on target, but there happened to be a defender there. He definitely has a good arm and seems to keep a calm head when all hell was breaking loose.

Definitely a good pickup.

looks like we gave up something with about the same value in Anthony Henry

I kind of would like to have Henry back, but Kitna was a fair trade

Kitna looked decent to me.

Also consider that he had all second teamers, going against a lot of Raider first teamers, when judgin his performance.

Having him here makes me a lot less nervous than Brad Johnson, I can tell you that.

I thought Kitna threw a real real nice ball. They were strong, sharp and accurate passes. All of them including the INT. On that INT it wasnt a duck or a terrible pass He put the ball where Hurd could make a play but it got picked by a diving great play.


Kitna Gets a A for performance. If Romo ever goes down I wont jump off a building.
