We really don't know how to draft O-lineman so probably not good. I haven't watched it.

I don't know if anybody on the roster can be judged by what happened in Philly on Sunday. It's the kind of game were you don't even bother analyzing what happened. Only possible use you could have that footage is to put together a motivational film or something to try to get the team fired up. Of course it probably wouldn't do much good considering this team.

Yeah, I just kept waiting for the team to get mad at itself for motivation. I hoped that continued embarassment would spark an attitude change, but it just never materialized. It got worse as the season played out actually.

He played better than decent. He was in during the time we were moving the ball and turning it over with fumbles instead of on downs.

If that's the case, it begs a serious question. Why did Cory Procter play period? I mean ever. When Kosier couldn't go originally, the word was that Joe Berger would start in his place. Then out of the blue it was announced that were rolling with Procter. At that point Holland wasn't ready to play, but are Joe Berger and Mcquistan both worse than Procter? If so, what kind of operation are they running down at Valley Ranch?

I honestly thought that move was stupid.

Proctor was good enough to hold McQ off all season but since we are getting our butts kicked we go and bench Proctor? Dumb. I said it to whoever would listen early in the game.

I didn't pay too much attention to the 4th stringer due to shock.

McQuistan should have never been drafted... Parcells liked McQs brother so he figured he get a project...

I think originally we expected Kosier to be out only a week or two, in which case it makes sense to go with the more experienced player to hold the fort. Once he was on IR and Holland was out, I have no idea. It appears to have been an error in judgement.

It's possible that McQuistan had problems in practice that the team was aware of and that the Eagles just didn't get around to exploiting. But I'm a big fan of sitting marginal vets if you have talented backups and need to jump start your team. And G is a relatively easy position to experiment with. I think it was a mistake on the part of our coaching staff.

I only remember a few of McQ's plays, but I don't think I saw him get out-gunned in a one-on-one situation like Procter routinely did.

I'm inclined to believe that Kosier precipitated a domino effect on our line. It's the only thing I can think of for their insanely rapid decline after playing together all of last year. The beginning of the year was more than solid, and then Kosier goes down/comes back in injured and all the sudden we have the worst line in the league.

It's not much of a theory because, in the end, why should Kosier's injury really effect what Bigg or Colombo does? But something made an impact and it's clear that the turnstile at LG is the only real common denominator.

Right.

Honestly, any player who can keep themselves in the league for 3 years -- and be active for many of those games as a backup, has made a very clear case for belonging in the league. The guy is a freaking 7th round draft pick? What percentage of 7th rounders even make it through three seasons?

I don't know the answer to the question in the OP. My lasting memory of McQ is BP yelling at him in training camp about not know which play was called.

It could also be that teams saw on film how we were adjusting early in the year and exploited that. From listening to some of the players talk after the Baltimore game, it sounded like they were able to exploit something we were doing in our pass blocking that the Eagles were able to copy, too. No idea what it was, though, but the line sure looked amateurish out there those last two games.

It was probably a last ditch effort to evaluate him. I don't think he will be back. He'll end up in Miami, no doubt in my mind.

If that's the case we should of never started to play Holland in favor if we're going by your logic...

No, my logic is that you don't bench some third string scrub for a guy who couldn't take his job as your big halftime adjustment.
