I know it's not official but it's over

We need to find away to get off to good starts. Especially against good teams. I don't get how we get off to bad starts so much.

Reeves is a good young CB but we needed Henry today. Against all the receivers NE has Henry makes it easier to match up with. I feel if he is healthy and we play the Pats again they don't get the easy plays they got some today. I felt our safety coverage was actually good today even with all the yards.

Brady is probably playing better than anyone else in the NFL right now. If he keeps playing like this he'll get the MVP easily.

We really didn't have chances on offense I would have like to see us get more carries on the run game though.

Our guys played hard against the best team in the league and came up short in the 4th quarter. Giving up that amount of points is tough but our defense was on the field almost the entire final period.

I tip my hat to the Pats they are a great team hopefully we'll meet them in the SB and beat them.

your right. NE is a hell of a team. they do a real good job of taking advantage of ur mistakes.

on Reeves, well Moss can make Champ Bailey look like a very average CB. leave the kid alone. we had our share of penalties that killed us.

Horrible scheme on defense.

The Pats were running quick outs against us all day. [see this a lot in spread offenses. ]

Really basic routes.

I don't blame them. We played way off their WR's most of the game.

We were too concerned in not allowing Randy Moss to kill us with a big play, that we left two average receivers in Welker and Stallworth destroy us for almost 300 yards and 3 TD's.

Bad game plan.

I agree.

I kept waiting for us to use press coverage/bump and run.

Didn't see much of that...

one thing i just realized looking at the game stats is that we only had 14 rush attempts in this game...

now i realize in the first half that we were coming from behind, but when we were getting some of those runs working in the 2nd half we should have stuck with it a little more

and obviously penalties, penalties, penalties...totally screwed us in this game

and i don't just mean the terrible calls by officials, but the 100% legit penalties that killed us (the one that immediately comes to mind is the holding on Kosier)

in the end though, it think we were giving NE a run for their money until the end of the 3rd, and then our D got tired from being on the field that long

but we just need to come out next week and trample Minnesota, and go into our bye 6-1, which i think is a lot better than most of the realistic guesses we were giving at the beginning of the season.

They are the best team in the league right now no doubt. But we are not that far behind. We get our injured people back and healthy and we are better on both Offense and defense.

I don't disagree too much but I think the loss of Henry is to blame some here. If Henry plays we can probably use some 3 CB formations and cover those guys better. Also you don't want to have Moss beat us for 300 yards by himself.

I think it's really tough to come up with a good gameplan against this NE offense they just have 2 top level WRs in Stallworth and Moss and a perfect slot receiver for that offense. And they have probably the best QB in the league. And they have the TE that can catch the ball.

My opinion on why we lost, besides the obvious of they scored more points.

1. PENALTIES
we had far too many. a lot of them were either drive killers for us, or drive savers for them. Kosier had a horrible game.

2. 3RD DOWN DEFENSE
ours was horrible today. we did very well on first and second down, but on 3rd down, we looked like a peewee league team out there runnin around.

3. FGS INSTEAD OF TDS
we had to settle for 2 FGs instead of scoring TDs and that cost us. On that second FG drive, Romo had Crayton open on a fade to the corner, but threw it to Owens instead. If he hits Crayton we are within 7 instead of 11.

4. POOR TACKLING
Even when we got to the ball carrier, we didn't tackle very well. On the Stallworth TD, Reeves looked pathetic on the alleged tackle attempt

Overall, I am upset that we lost, I felt the game could have been closer and that we played very well for 38-40 minutes. But then, we simply stopped playing. NE and Indy are the two teams that you have to play 60 minutes.....and Dallas simply didn't and got beat. On a good note, we lost to an AFC team and the Skins lost to an NFC team......So we didn't lose a game to the Skins....and they now have 2 Conference losses (1 Divisional).

I am also upset that it seems like NE gets mad love from the refs. Yes Dallas commits a lot of penalties, but the refs let NE get away with murder. I am sorry, but if Fasano committed offensive PI, then so did Moss in the end zone when they mistakenly called it on Newman....it should have been Reeves. However, Reeves was just standing there and Moss ran through him. Definitely should have been offensive PI. Also, I noticed that the RT for NE would leave before the snap quite often, and no whistle. I'm not blaming the refs by any means, just saying that NE gets away with a lot more than every other team in the league.

We're a work in progress. The game was a good measuring stick.

I think we've got to come up with a way to get pressure on the QB without resorting to blitzes all the time.

We occasionally, straight up pressure.

Too many penalties again. That penalty by Kosier on the Barber first down killed us. But it was only one of many.

Honestly, I would have seen us 5-2 or even 4-3 going into the bye before the season started.

So if we can go 6-1.....SWEEEEEEEEEEET

I don't think they ran but maybe a couple quick outs all day. Do you even know what that is?

Our pass protection was very good today. NE hardly got any pressure on Romo.....I feel Romo did rush a bit on some of his throws though. I guess he felt pressure that wasn't there.

Still, the entire media is going to act as if NE dominated this game from start to finish, when in reality, it was a game up until the 4th quarter.

I'm trying to figure out when they completed a quick out. I can't think of many. Some of their plays were in perfect coverage they just made plays because they have 2 big time playmakers and a quick guy that's hard to defend when you have 2 big time playmakers at WR. NE has the best WR corp in the NFL and the best QB in the NFL. They aren't easy to stop.

They put up near 50 on us,

I'm not so sure we are close behind. They abused us all game.

Another thing this game proves is that we need to draft defense first next year.

I don't disagree, but I think we are a lot better on defense if Henry is there as a DB.

I guess you did not notice we were leading them in the 3rd qtr. It was only in the 4th that our D, gassed, collapsed. Our Offense did not help the D today much as regards TOP.

I agree but the defense didn't really make enough stops either. It goes both ways. NE is a machine this year though. They could go undefeated.
