Thoughts on today's games

I don't think I've ever seen a team KO from the five yard line before.

I sometimes wonder if having its three big stars from the same college with something of a reputation is the reason that the Commanders are one of the most undisciplined teams I've ever seen.

The Eagles lost because McNabb made a rookie mistake and threw short of the goaline and inside letting the clock expire in the first half not due to his picks.

Funniest moment I saw all day was Ted Washington getting blown seven yards off the ball then just standing there as Plummer scrambled by him.

I'm betting that Roethlisburger's not long for the NFL. His concussion today wasn't from that big of a hit. Looks like the accident might have started him down a road that he won't be able to recover from.

I don't know if it happened to anyone else, but the Sunday Ticket didn't black out the local games today on the Ticket channels. It was so much easier to surf all the games.

Randy Moss couldn't catch a cold today and still had a decent game.

What the heck is wrong with Miami's defense? Green Bay started three rookies today on the OL and Jason Taylor seemed to be the only player to notice that.

Don't sleep on the Jets. Pennington's arm seems stronger now than it's ever been. I can't remember the last time I saw him go deep like the TD to McCariens with such conviction. Washinton has a little wiggle too. If their defense steps up, I can see them winning the East.

Barber's "effort" on Westbrook's TD catch was embarrassing. My son's fifth-grade football coach would have benched him for loafing like that.

Kevin Jones is really playing well now. I know since he was taken in the same draft as Julius and will often be compared to him people don't wanna see him do well, but he was really impressive today. It wasn't the fact that he was playing a suspect run D either... He was breaking tackles all over the place, and making nice moves. The yards came because of him, not because of big holes. Between him and Roy Williams #2, the Lions have a promising offense for the future.

Also, watching the Colts as a whole is very fun to watch, especially when that passing game was clicking. There were a couple of plays in particular where Marvin Harrison reallly showed how great of a route runner he way. When they showed some of the slow mo replays, the Skins corners were just baffled and back on their heels with no idea which way he was going.

Interesting thought about Rothlisberger. I will watch that from here on out.

I also noticed the non-blackouts. Good move, imo. I never understood why they did that when you pay the full price to get all the games. I hope that's a permanent change.

I also agree about the UM players on the Skins teams. When Portis and Taylor are leaders on your team, you have an interesting blend of players.
