Thoughts/Opinions about wildcard weekend!

As I said in another thread. I really have to hand it to the NFL. Every game came down to pretty much the last play. All one possession games that went to the last fart that was ripped on the field.

The really have all of this down to a science it seems to maximize every and any means of profits that’s possible.

As long as they don’t hit each other too hard and play their patty cake, patty cake, bakers man nice……all is well lol.

My thought is……Dallas isn’t anywhere close to being a properly built playoff team that can make a run. This isn’t a new thought though :muttley:

We aren't that far as it seems. None of these teams are dominate by any means.
The Cowboys are closer to the bottom than they are to the top. Dak is getting older, Quinnen is almost 30, Schotty is coaching at a disadvantage with the Joneses running the team, and the top 9 teams in the NFC are clearly better then the Cowboys with talent and coaching/ front office personnel. Carolina has more upside then the Cowboys.

The fact that San Francisco won shows to me coaching matters a ton. Give our team to that head coach and we would be amazing. Philly was loaded and they got beat and looked uninterested and poorly coached. Their coach is a clown.

I love that they havent been able to win the big one. But they have been good enough to be a consistent legit contender.
Right now, I would settle for getting to an NFCCG, before expecting more. I mean it is so sad that 2014 is still the closest we gotten to it since the glory days.

Philly elimnated
GB eliminated

Im at peace
I kinda wish Philly had won, and even gone to the NFC CG, and I'll tell you why.

If they had gotten to the NFC CG, or even the SB and lost...they might have been tempted to bring back their bad offensive coaches, convinced they were just 1 win away.

That didn't happen.

The fact that they went 11-6, won the NFC East, and lost in the Wild Card will be seen as a colossal and unadulterated failure of a season to them. To US, it woulda been a pretty good year.... but they will take this as fuel to do whatever it takes to get back to the top again. And they wont wait. They did the exact same thing 2 years ago, and then won the SB.

Them being motivated to "get things straight" is NOT good for us.

yep. i think the niners have been to 7 or 8 conference championship games since the last one for dallas. At least they get there.

I'm convinced Murray costs them at least 2 wins this year. Thats how bad he was. Eberturd should have been fired long before the season ended just for trotting out Murray.
I gotta agree.
Been watching 50 plus years.
I have never seen anything like the failure I watched weekly at the second level of the Dallas defense.

It didn't take some advanced coaching degree or scouting credentials to see that the linebackers were not NFL starters.

And this is from the very first of the year.

Disagree, one good offseason could really get them into contention

The Cowboys need more than one good offseason. They need to hit home runs with coaching hires, free agents, and the draft. You know Jerry is going to do something goofy so you have to prepare yourself for that.
I guess you didn’t notice how powerful the NFC North and West over the weekend. Seven teams that are superior to the Cowboys organization from top to bottom. Arizona, the worst of the bunch, walked the Cowboys like a dog in Dallas.
