Holy *&^% where do you get these facts. Thats a lot of nickel. I think that if the Cowboys play Carter at SLB that he should get some DE reps as well in the nickel.

They did have Carter practice pass rushing drills about the same time he started practicing at SLB.

I think he is much better when he is in attack mode rather than backing up. He has great speed and decent instincts when he is not thinking too much and reacting.

This is scientific Talent Trend of this team 2007-2014... I think you can see a pattern forming.

Listening to Cowboys Radio right now, Bryan Broaddus has heard whispers at Valley Ranch that CB Terrance Williams left the team with a bad attitude.

He was tired of being yelled at by the coaching staff and simply wanted to go somewhere else (Chicago practice squad).

On a side note, Mickey Spagnola doesn't expect Anthony Spencer to play before week 4, at the earliest.

Ouch yeah that can do it. I thought Mitchell was this practice warrior that had rave reviews.

That's what makes me question if it is true.

The SLB will be off the field in the Nickel Defense. The Cowboys played Nickel 61% of the snaps last season. That means that Wilber can be the starting SLB and still be available for approximately 61% of the snaps at DE.

Well, if the DMN article is true, Wilber isn't going to be starting at SLB, which I guess means he'll be primarily a passing-down end. ... So that would definitely make it less likely Dallas would bring in another end ... but I do think we're still just throwing bodies at the position for now to see who works out.

I'm normally less critical of Jerry than most, but this seems like a Jerry move more than a Garrett/McClay move to me. Jerry paid him over 10M for a handful of snaps in 2013 and probably wants to even it out by getting something out of him this year.

Because they want him for those three or four (or more) games that he couldn't play if he were on PUP?

(I know the minimum would be two games, but he couldn't even practice for six weeks and there's no way he'd be ready to play with no practice.)

Part of the reason he didn't play most of 2013 was because he was rushed back too early from his injury. He got surgery just weeks before they put him in against the Giants.

That's another good reason he should have stayed on the PUP. Why rush back from a major surgery?
