stealth;1728222 said:lol @ that distinction, when italian and polish and irish and german are all the same thing, mexico is a country of origin for his family and likely the lineage continues into native mexican indians and perhaps spanish decent. Its kind of silly to dismiss mexican because he was born here, you don't do that with any other part of his heritage. I am not being rude with this, but that distinction between chicano and mexican has always bothered me when that is never even considered with any other heritage country.

A name is a name, I am also irish less irish then german but I am irish so If I where to name my daughter a very irish name would it make her any more Irish? No she would have a Irish name but still be the same amount of irish no matter what I name her.
They really have. Remember when the Cowboys played a pre-season game in Mexico City several years ago? The crowd was huge and it was almost all Cowboys fans.DA FAN;1728334 said:His father is a Mexican American. His grandfather was born in Mexico and migrated to the U.S.
Hmm, could it be because San Antonio is primarly Hispanic that you noticed more Hispanics on the videos?
Mexican Americans as well as Mexican Citizens have allways supported the Dallas Cowboys.

I will dig my key into the side of your pretty little souped up 4 wheel drive,

On his father's side:
Romo's half Mexican; 1/4 Italian & 1/4 Irish
On his mother-s side:
His mother, Joan, is of German/Polish descent.
In other words, Tony's a mixed breed just like every American.
But of course, with Jerry Jones and the NFL anxious to gain entry (make big bucks) into the Hispanic Community not only in the U.S. but throughout Mexican and the rest of Central/South America, Romo's success couldn't have happened at a better time. He'll be the poster boy for Jerry's entire merchandise marketing scheme.
Hmmm. I wonder if MBIII's background contains any Hispanic lines? Just kidding.

Tired of this hyphenated crap. I don't go around telling anyone I'm German-American. Screw germany. I can care less how many of my "ancestors" came from germany, france, spain, italy, etc... screw all those countries. I'm an AMERICAN, a citizen of the greatest country on earth. Adding another country to that only belittles america IMO.
You want to call him a hispanic american? I've got zero problem with that (although he's got alot more then just hispanic in him). You want to honor one of the countries that your ancestors are from? Fine by me, but leave it out of the equation when you tell someone what country you're from.
There was once a time when people were proud to be americans.

You completely misunderstood him IMO.abersonc;1728608 said:Telling people how to define who they are or how to define their identities belittles THEM. People have every right to honor, respect, and hold on to those aspects of their background they find important. Frankly, the reason this country is, as you put it, "the greatest country on earth," is because of the diversity of the people and the richness all those different backgrounds bring.
