Romo is american. End of story.
This thread is regarding Romo's HERITAGE. Heritage = inherited from the past. End of story.

There's nothing wrong with being proud to be an American. And guess what? Nobody said otherwise. If you think this was something implied, it was merely a figment of your own imagination.

You don't know Romo... if he happened to be raised around many Mexican or German customs and traditions, he may be DAMN proud to say, "I'm a Mexican-American" or "German-American".
And there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with that, like it or not.

Just like how there is nothing wrong with being proud to be an American, there's nothing wrong with being proud of your deeper roots.

Yao is a good basketball player though. How many Chinese play football? :laugh2:

Maybe not Chinese but I always thought Sumo wrestlers would make great Nose Guards.

Remember when he told Reagan he couldn't use that song in his campaign?

That was awesome.

I feel bad for you that Pappasitos is the best place you can find Mexican food. Not that it is a bad place, but there are so much better choices where I live. Mainly the dives offer the best Mexican food. Even a couple of roach coaches provide a better quality food only they don't have margaritas.

I frequent a variety of messakin joints. Just depends on what I'm hungry for. Today, Papas sounds good.

Heck, in the neighborhood I'm in, there's literally FOUR mexico-food places less than 3/4 of a mile from each other, and I don't mean the FF chain types.

But I appreciate your concern.

I've always thought the same thing.

But in the same regards, Somoans make great OG's and DT's.

Much has been made about Tony Romo being of Mexican heritage. Did a goggle on him and found out the following. It's funny, Romo is the same kind of American as we all are -- of mixed varied heritage.

On his father's side:

Romo's half Mexican; 1/4 Italian & 1/4 Irish

On his mother-s side:

His mother, Joan, is of German/Polish descent.

In other words, Tony's a mixed breed just like every American.

But of course, with Jerry Jones and the NFL anxious to gain entry (make big bucks) into the Hispanic Community not only in the U.S. but throughout Mexican and the rest of Central/South America, Romo's success couldn't have happened at a better time. He'll be the poster boy for Jerry's entire merchandise marketing scheme.

Hmmm. I wonder if MBIII's background contains any Hispanic lines? Just kidding.

Excuse me, I think I have something in my eye.........be strong.......hmmmmmff........I have to go do something over here.......

You aren't surprised, are you?

Oh I understood completely. You want to make people define themselves on your terms rather than their own.

Mexican American, African American, Asian American, Jewish American, Gay American. All these folks are trying to do is hold on to what makes them a unique part of the country. That is their right. Seems that those who don't have unique backgrounds are the one's who object the loudest. I get it, you aren't different or special so no one else should be.

This reminds me an entirely fabricated story I heard on how Romo met Carrie Underwood:

Romo: "Excuse me Ms. Underwood, but do you have any Mexican in you?"

Underwood: "No"

Romo: "Would you like some?"

Underwood: "Oh, Tony!"

What a crock.

Every American?

What a small, small world you must live in.
