So, let's say we win 2 out of the next three, Philly wins one of the next three, and New York wins all three. If all three teams finish 10-6 who wins the division?

If we win the last 2, and Philly loses the last 2 its NYG.

Then our sweep over Phi gives us WC

But having Philly lose to SF instead of Den might change it.

If Philly's one win is against us they would go as the wild card. But that would also mean that we beat NO which I doubt happens.

If Dallas wins out they win the east, they control their destiny.

Nope, we'd still get in ahead of them.

The Cowboys may have to win out to win a playoff spot. It's entirely possible NYG and Philly could win out otherwise, save Phily losing to Dallas. Were that to happen, NYG and Philly would be in, and Dallas would be out, barring a GB collapse.

The biggest game of the year thusfar was in NY 2 weeks ago. That's why I couldn't understand those who acted like it was no big deal, as far as the season is concerned.

Giants have the big edge on us in the division due to sweeping us. So do the Packers since they beat us. Philthy will be settled in the last game.

If we are assuming that Philly loses to us, and to one other team, and we lose to N.O. and beat Washington, and Philly... this is how it plays out... assuming that NY wins out as well...

Taken from cbssports.com...
The GB situation is interesting. Since GB beat DAL H2H and there is no other team that DAL can use from another division in a three-team tiebreaker, DAL would need to win the East division title to keep GB out. If DAL loses this week to NO, the potential three-team tie for the division title among PHIL, DAL and NYG could stretch out to strength of victory if PHI win is against DEN. However, it appears there is no way in that scenario that DAL could finish ahead of NYG, meaning DAL would have no chance to win the division, which means they could not clinch a playoff spot ahead of GB.

BUT, if Philly loses to Denver, and we beat them then NY would win the division (assuming that they win out)... Philly would be eliminated by the common games tiebreaker at 4-4 while both NY and us would be 5-3... then the tiebreaker goes back to the head to head matchups, which we lose. But we would get the wildcard spot.

Seems to me, that if we don't win out, we either want the Giants to lose a game and not be a factor (preferred) or win the division, so that we get the wildcard spot, and Philly goes home...

Head to head doesn't matter in a 3 way tie, right?

I'm not sure if we win 2 we are in. NY could win out, IMO. GB is getting in because their schedule is pathetic and they would need to lose out. This weekend will be a tough division game, but they can win at Washington. At Carolina....WIN. Finish with Minnesota....Will Minnesota have anything to play for in that last game? If we beat NO then yes, and so this NO game is huge for us for 2 reasons. If they sit Favre and AP, maybe a few D linemen I can see NY winning that game.

It really sucks that Arizona this week, taking pressure off of them to beat GB and off of the Vikings to beat the Giants.

If two of the three teams are in the same division, then the division tiebreakers are used first i.e. Dallas, NY, and GB are tied for a Wildcard spot, the tie between NY and Dallas must be broken first. So NY gets the edge and then the tie between NY and GB is broken, OR if the three teams are all in different divisions but one team has beaten the other two, or one team has lost to the other two teams... Make sense?

the final game will determine the outcome when Dallas plays Philly. If Dallas loses to Philly they would have lost both to the Giants and only split with Philly meaning the Division/Conference record would probably make a difference.

If Boyz beats Commanders and Philly we are in....even with a lost to Saints. Now in saying this I believe to guarantee a spot we need to win the last two but if I was a betting man I would probably bet we don't win both.

Not so. We could still wind up behind Philly who could be 11-5, and tied with NYG at 10-6, at which point they would own the tiebreaker.

The last tie-breaker would teams with HC's who have a brain. Let's see, that would leave Wade out and then there'd have to be a tie-breaker between the GiANTs and the Eagles. Between those two I'd give it to Coughy.

For me, it still looks like we need to simply win one of our next two games and the season-ender vs. the Eagles, and the Eagles to lose one of their next two games and the season-ender vs. the Cowboys, and BANG we're in.

Green Bay all but has the 5th spot locked up.

We're battling for either the division, or the 6th seed against another NFCE club.

There could conceivably be three rematches on wild card weekend from week 17

NYJ/CIN
GB/ARI
DAL/PHI

I don't remember that many occurring before.
