Taken from the Giants Forum: Tiki is p*ssed that his final season is disintegrating : GeofromNJ : 11/24/06 12:05 PM

Prior to the draft this year, Tiki publicly came out against drafting Deangelo Williams saying that it would be waste of a pick because he would spend a year on the bench. Instead, Tiki wanted the Giants to draft a player who could help the team this year with the SB, this way Tiki leaves on a winner. But there will be no winner this year. Too many injuries, Moss is a non-factor, and Eli is self-destructing.
Tiki thinks that maybe if the Giants go back to run, run, run, the season is still salvagable and maybe he can leave a winner. This is Tiki's hope and his prayer. But keep in mind that Tiki cares about this year and this year only, because next year he will be gone.

Oh he's ticked is he?

Good.

Hopefully we can throw a few shovels full of dirt on his carcass next Sunday.

Poor Tiki, bawhahaha!

His perfectly timed pre-retirement anouncement was planned to give him not just maximum exposure as he launched his broadcasting career full force, but a king's farewell as the conference leading tailback, and perhaps even SB winner.

Tough breaks.:lmao:

About the only thing that's been proven over the last two months is he is a complete jerk.

Tiki is a punk. He is all roses when everything is going well but hes no different then Shockey or some of the other loudmouth selfish players ripping that franchise apart. He cries about his 11 carries, but its hard to move the ball on the ground when u average 2.7 ypc. Their whole team sucked vs Jacksonville, including him.

I think the Cowboys have to be the team to drive the stake into the Giants heart and end their season.

The G-men are going to meltdown into a giant steaming pile of duty before we even arrive. They'll lose to the titans, as they'll be worried about us. Rightfully so.

Tiki is a class individual. No need to drag him through the mud just because you don't like the Giants.

Is that what he thought?

The MNF timing made it look more like he was setting the stage for his self-coronation.

Hey, I've loathed him for years, tho my dislike of him reached full boil with his company man buttinsky remarks over the Strahan contract negotiations. What business was that of his?

Self-promoting phony....all these years there's been a real class act tailback in NY...the one who kept his mouth shut, quietly did good on and off the field, and desperately wants to play a few more years...NOT retire early. The one who never had a radio show, never had tv spots, and never tooted his own horn. But who everyone loves.

The one Bill raised, and raised right.

Tiki Barber isn't a speck on Curtis Martin's shadow.

I dont understand all this giants season is over talk?

They still can put 40 on the board any sunday with that offense. I really think there are alot of people jumping the gun.

We all know that when we go to ny next sunday osi and strahan will play and that takes alot of stress off there linebackers and secondary.

I really think that game is going to be a war up there and is a difficult matchup on the interior for us.

I think this is what happens when everyone watches espn, they all think because player x or team x had a bad game that the season is lost. They have 6 games left and they will be ready.

If the giants play well in tenessee this week I expect the talking heads to be saying how they are still the class of the east.

Facts are until we win up there which we havent done since 03, then nothing has changed, we are chasing the giants. Eli has not played a good game against us yet, but since he has been there tiki has not played a bad one.

I cant wait for next week.

I have to agree, the tiki barber I am a shy humble man routine is annoying to me. He is very calculated and comes across as a bit of a jerk.

Having said that he is still the best back in the east and one of the best backs in the league and he has been giving us fits the past 2.5 seasons.

Numbers aside, I think Portis is the best back in the East.

But granted, the Jints are still a force to be reckoned with - not to be taken lightly in any way - and Barber has had our number.

Now I want his head. :D

Barber was wrong to throw Coughlin under the bus
By Andy Targovnik on November 24, 2006 12:44 AM

When the New York Giants hit tough times, the players always know who to blame - and it's never the guy in the mirror.

This is nothing new. It's been going on all year. The moment things start to go wrong, the finger pointing begins, too.

Both Plaxico Burress and Jeremy Shockey have physically ranted and raved on the field at Eli Manning. Of course, you would need an abacus to count all of their dropped balls, but, hey, it's never their fault.

But because so many of us expect that behavior from those two guys, it doesn't carry much weight. But when Tiki Barber starts to play the blame game, you have to wonder how much longer this house of cards will stay standing.

Like Shockey did earlier in the year, Barber called out his head coach, Tom Coughlin, in public. Barber was upset because he didn't carry the ball enough in the Giants' Monday night loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars .

On merit, Barber may have a point. The game was close enough that he should have seen the ball more than 10 times.

But Barber should have addressed it privately with Coughlin - not take it up with the media. And if you're going to complain, you should really perform a little better than a measly 2.7 yards per carry.

This 'blaming the other guy' syndrome is really getting tiresome.

The Giants lost to Jacksonville not because of any one person, but for a myriad of reasons. Manning was horrible; Burress dropped a touchdown; and the Jags' running backs sliced through the Giants' defenders like they were Swiss cheese. Should I go on?

Barber, who the majority of the media treats like the Mahatma Gandhi of the gridiron, blew it. At best, he could have voiced support for his head coach. At worst, he could have just kept his mouth shut.

The Giants are ravaged by injury, and if they are going to make a run in the last few weeks of the season, they need to come together as a team. In what is supposedly his final season, the 31-year-old Barber had the chance to step up as a leader and try to right this floundering ship.

But like so many other New York Football Giants, he chose to throw someone else under the bus.

yeah it is debatable. The portis in denver making big plays was a better player, but in the washington offense I dont see him as the difference maker barber is in ny.

I really dislike the barber brothers and tiki is particularly annoying to me, but his talent is undeniable. I think he is like a hair better than portis, but it really is a toss up.
