1(27th pick in the draft)-Brycen Hopkins(6'-4",245 lbs)TE Purdue Reason-Have to get someone to be the future at TE and open the offense up. 2-DJ Wonnum(6'-5",255 lbs)DE South Carolina Reason-Cannot trust Randy Gregory ,Tyronne Crawford are coming back and both Quinn & Lawrence are not getting any younger. Wonnum also could play OLB in a pinch also. 3-Evan Weaver(6'-3",245 lbs) MLB California Reason-Leading tackler in the FBS. Big,high motor, fast LB,kind of a throwback. Could let Jaylon Smith slide to the WLB position. Sean Lee will be 35 next year and not get any younger. 4-Josh Jones(6'-7",310 lbs)OT Houston(#74 in video) Reason -Insurance behind Tyron Smith who keeps getting injured. Cam Fleming is decent, but we need to groom an eventual replacement. Jones is a decent athlete 5-LeVaunte Bellamy(5'-7",185 lbs)RB Western Michigan Reason-More speed on offense. More weapons . Continue on next post.
6th-Kyle Dugger(6'1",220 lbs)S Lenoir-Rheine Reason-Big hitter overaged and small school Division 2 might drop 7-Caleb Dalzell(6'-6",280 lbs)DT George Fox https://athletics.georgefox.edu/sports/fball/2019-20/bios/dalzell_caleb_sdod Reason-he is a project from Division 3. Let him sit on the practice squad for a year and bulk up and maybe he becomes a player. He is estimated to run a 4.83 forty right now.
I wasn't really worried about the safety position. We have a lot of young players who can develop if given the chance. Thompson,Wilson, Westry,Goodwin,M.Jackson can all be safeties.Maybe one later to add to the pack.
Caleb Dalzell's stats so far for 2019 Played in 8 games 43 tackles and 4 sacks. In 2017 he had 9 1/2 sacks 52 TOT and 17 TFL

Not enough improvement. It's the same team, only with new contracts. Not a single free agent added? And I'm guessing your first round pick is the 5th year senior TE from Purdue? We have to get better on the sidelines but we need to add some talent. A playmaking Safety. A run-stopping DT. A difference maker at TE or 3rd WR. We can't keep trotting out the same product and expecting different results.
*I think Hopkins is a playmaker at TE. Look at his highlights. Can separate,is an athlete, good hands. *DT? They might roll with what they have. Bennett could help a lot if he keeps focused on football. Hill looks like a wasted pick. Collins & Woods are decent,Covington is OK and hopefully Wise continues his hustle like he did in the Preseason. *Safety? I think we need just to have the guys we have now have a chance.
I just don't think it's reasonable do expect any improvement with essentially the the same roster. We've basically tried that for 5 or 6 years now and we are essentially a slightly above .500 team that offers no real threat to win a championship. I also don't think it's unreasonable to improve 3 to 4 spots in one off-season. I know we got next-to-nothing from this draft class, but if we can get two improvements in the draft and two in free agency, then we will be a much better team.
we love Boise St guys.... •DE Curtis Weaver...love this player...very disruptive. •OL Ezra Cleveland...could play OT or OG...position flex.

1(27th pick in the draft)-Brycen Hopkins(6'-4",245 lbs)TE Purdue Garrett likes em bigger, and unclear if even Garrett is back. I suspect if they want a smaller receiving type, they'll just stick with Jarwin and cheap out another developmental player. I wonder if they're ready to give up on Schultz, or are just waiting to unleash him as the New Witten. 2-DJ Wonnum(6'-5",255 lbs)DE South Carolina Still got years on Armstrong and Jackson, Gregory in the back pocket, some people at least excited about Jelqs, and a question on whether we resign Quinn. We didn't sign TJ Watt at 6-4 252, I don't us jumping on this guy with only 3 more pounds. 3-Evan Weaver(6'-3",245 lbs) MLB California I'd rather have LVE at MLB. If not, getting a solid run stuffer in the 3rd to go with Jaylon and LVE would be good. I can see them wanting to bring back Thomas cheap. Maybe Lee too. Gifford doesn't seem like a MLB. Most likely we keep playing the LBs out of position and don't spend a good pick making changes. We do what we do. 4-Josh Jones(6'-7",310 lbs)OT Houston(#74 in video) Depends on McGovern a lot. If he seems like a solid LG, maybe they think about Williams as the backup swing T, maybe LT after Tyron. With lots of young guys we like, I don't see us getting another. Tyron has looked healthier than he has in years. They probably like Knight to. I do. 5-LeVaunte Bellamy(5'-7",185 lbs)RB Western Michigan Please no more midget backs. With Zeke signed, I expect them to stand pat with Pollard as the primary back up and gimmick back. I put the top need at DT. It's also a position Marinelli likes. I could see taking DTs with the first two picks. Collins gone, Crawford old, expensive, and with chronic hip problems, and a real question on whether Hill can play. I'm not writing Hill off yet, but they certainly can't bank on him. Even if they're happy enough with Hill, two more DTs for the rotation are needed. Hope it's a good draft for DTs. We can "BPA!" all day, but the first round pick at least needs to go to a position that won't leave a guy just sitting, and the DT needs looks big next year. Big enough that we already swung this year, and maybe missed.
6th-Kyle Dugger(6'1",220 lbs)S Lenoir-Rheine Big SS. A need, though Wilson looked like he had something too. 7-Caleb Dalzell(6'-6",280 lbs)DT George Fox Another bottom roster JAG for Marinelli to get excited about. And a tweener too! Heaven!
