Should we keep the screen pass in our offense.

Right now we really bite at the screen. When I have been in chat here alota you want to see the Boys drop the screen pass. So should we keep it or drop it.

IMO I think we should keep trying it. If we quit on it and give up we will never get good at it. If we keep trying it then it will be only a matter of time before we finally get it down and get good at it. We wont get better at it by quitting on it. When we finally get it down good we will be really happy we stuck with it.

Keep the screen pass. We will get it down good with more practice.

As the downfield passing takes hold and then the running game shows its full force, the screen will be a viable change of pace play. When you have pple not respecting your passing, and keying on the run, you cant run a screen reliably. But its a great weapon when used right in the right situation.

the way we run it ....no!!!!

If we quit on it we will never get it down. We may suck at it most of the year but what if by using it nuff this year we really start to get good at it next year.

When we do get the screen down good...and we will if we keep trying it...then our offense will be even more dangerous.

That is a very good question. However if you consider how much we really don't execute that play, it is really worth having. Are we keeping defenses honest by calling it? NO. Would I like JJ to get another chance running the ball instead and possibly breaking one? YES. Maybe if we keep practing it we can get somewhat decent at it.

First, the offensive line needs to develop some continuity from tackle to tackle. Second, the OL must learn how to maintain their blocks long enough to sell the screen.

It's doable, but the question is, "How long it will take for everyone to get on the same page?"
