He is an average S at best when healthy. Now, he's obviously injured and it's clearly affecting his play. The guy can't make a solid NFL tackle without hurting himself. The neck injury has relegated his tackling technique to just throwing his body in the way of the ballcarrier and hoping for the best. He's tackling with zero leverage and form. Not to mention, for his own healh, he needs to get that bulging disk taken care of.
Probelm is, the fact that Watkins is still out there playing injured while a healthy Courtney Brown cant get on the field tells the story of what coaches feel about Brown. There has to be a FA vet S out there who can just hold it down until the end of the season. Then we need to add at least 2 good physical athletic Ss to the roster in the offseason.
