I'd like to see Dallas establish the run this weekend.

I'm talking about 30 rushes, if we have to.

It's time to see what this "Pro Bowl OL" of ours can do...

 You don't know what the OL is capable of after 14 games? You haven't been watching the games this year?

been to fixated on his boy Henry to watch anything else. I heard he pays the NFL crews to put a camera on Henry for the entire game and half time so he can note every step he does

I agree we haven't run the ball much the last two games, especially in the second half. But, that has more to do with the play calling than the OL.

yea, julius will strike fear into carolina. if he falls down behind flozell enough maybe we can catch them on their sides laughing at jones. if jones runs it 20 times what will we hear more?

1. julius for a loss!
2. julius for 2, running into his own man!
3. julius breaks one!

i think we'd have 15 of 1 and 2 and then misc for the other 5 carries.

there's a reason we rely so much on romo and it's not just because he dates hot chics.

do you ever stop to ponder what you say or do you just blurt it out and wonder why you get "those looks" all the time?

While I want to see us run the ball more, I am more interested in seeing the passing game get back on track. To that end if we go aerial circus and end up only running 15 times, I will be okay with it if the passing game is clicking again.

Completely agree. Our running game hasnt been good all year. I dont care what we rush for in the 4th quarter when we're up by 21. I want to be able to run the ball throughout the course of a game.

Romo is hurt, our defense played well last week, and we're on the road. Let's hope our guys up front can run block though. They have been very, very inconsistent at it this year. And as one writer said, if you dont do it very often, you almost forget how. Different mindset than pass blocking.

Teams don't respect our running game.

They'd like to double TO and force us into throws to our TE's and RB's.

I believe it's time to launch a ground offensive.

I wouldnt respect it either. It's far below average.

This will be the first time I've said this, but...

START MARION BARBER!!!

Maybe if we can get a ground game going early, that will build on itself. JJ just doesnt do it. (Though with that being said, the last few games he has had a few good runs early, so I dont really know what to think)

Run that ball!
And when that stalls, pass it to T.O.
These two things have been missing during the December swoon.

there's a reason they don't respect it but i see once again common sense finds yet another way to elude you.

fyi they don't respect it cause we really don't have a solid one. it's about average.

we throw a lot cause romo is way above average.

something to fix in the offseason, not dive from the outter fringes of stupidity straight to the heart of dumbarse to establish what we don't have, ya think?

we should run more but we're not a ground game. i simply can't dumb it down more than that.

I'm sure you know all about "those looks". You probably get them all the time for writing stuff like that.
Jones is not the RB to give the ball to if we want to establish the run, & I think we all know that. However, you infer that Jones is all we have. Our best weapon by far is Marion Barber. There is a reason that the "Coaches" around the league chose a back-up RB to be in the Pro-Bowl. It's because Dallas is one of the few teams around the league that consider him a second choice.

The "Barbarian" is one of the best RBs in the NFL. Don't think so. Look at his 4.9 average per rush over the past two years. It is better than almost all of the so-called franchise backs ahead of him in yards rushing. That is why HE is going to Hawaii & Clinton Portis, Edgerrin James, & Frank Gore are not.

If the 'Boys want to establish the run during the stretch run & into the playoffs, they would do well to give the opponents a healthy dose of Barber. Then, next year, they need to let Jones leave to FA, and make Barber their feature back. Sure, they should draft a Matt Forte, or a Justin Forsett to come in for a few rushes to give Barber a blow, but give him the chance to prove what most other teams already know--he's the REAL DEAL. There is no RB in the NFL DBs want to tackle less than Barber. He will either make a move & make them look foolish, or, more often than not, will give them a facial, and run over them.

If our 'Boys want to dominate like our teams of the Emmitt era, then they need to give "The Barbarian" a raise, and let him carry this team when it's time to put a boot to the throat of the opposition.

i didn't infer anything - you're assuming. not my problem, is it? you do raise a valid point but how about asking for clarification vs. the current approach. yes, i'm rough on edunce cause he...um...you either know or you don't. moving on.

barber is a great change of pace back. above average, easily. but does that mean he's an every down back?

dunno. he's never done it, we've never seen him do it, so we speculate how we see fit, right? other teams don't. they go by fact and sometimes get surprised.

it's not out of line to say that jones is under average as a back. it's not like he's really impressed anyone over the last few years and a few WAY TO GO's get lost quick in his undying need to run into the backsides of our OL.

"on the whole" our running game is average and jones is the weak link. if you disagree, fine. show me real life stats to back that up and let's talk.

so far you seem to be marions' PR president and great, i like him a lot also. but he's still unproven in a full starting role. i'd love to see him get it and i'd love to see him prove he can do it.

till then, i go by what i see, not feel. he's a great change of pace back but a question mark as a 25 carry a game rb.

so right now not sure what you're here to do - talk our overall running game or pump up marion. can we start by agreeing jones isn't enough for us any longer or is he also one of the best in the NFL?

trying to find where we disagree.
