I was getting in the habit of watching th NFL network and was looking forward to watching cowboy pre-season games on it here in San diego. Then zap, it's gone. Time Warner is my new cable operator (taking over for adelphia). They axed the NFL channel. Now i've got to deal with the homeowners association and deal with getting direct tv. At least i'll get sunday ticket now.

I have hatred for time warner right now. Just needed to rant and see if anyone else is sharing the pain.

actually its the NFL that is at fault in my opinion. They want NFL network to be a regular channel. but time warner wants it on the sports pack. If the NFL got its way then the price of cable would go up and people who can care less about the NFL would be paying for it. I think the NFL should stop being so stubborn and just take it in the sportspack!(i already have it anyway, since a lot of spurs games are on it).

I did that when I first got NFL ticket. I was told by one of the installers who came to re-allign the dish, that he had one at his townhouse/condo and when Home owner assoc, said he can't have it, he threatened to go to court or something, immediately was allowed to put the the dish on roof etc. Although our Home Owners association didn't object though.

So it shouldn't be a problem with Home Owner Association.

It should be regular channel. hey i'm not into most of the crap channels on tv. I could care less about queer eye dress up shows and cooking with douch bag or many of the news talking head propganda channels. I just want to watch the Cowboys in preseason and a few days ago i thought i could because many cable providers have it as a regular channel (like my old one).Time warner sucks!!

DirecTV - and never look back. You will never regret it. Cable is a monster rip-off. With DirecTV, you get more channels, for less, AND the Ticket. This is a good thing.

Geez, almost every other major cable network, DirectTV and Dish Network all have NFL Network, yet Time Warner doesn't. Seems to me like TIme Warner is the problem, not the NFL. And supposedly the difference in fee would be .25 - .50 at most. Raise my bill $1 if it gets NFL Network. Or take a bunch of the duplicate channels that no one watches off.

My cable provider (Grande Communications in San Marcos, TX) has the NFL network, but it is only available in the Sports package upgrade. The sports package has about 15 sports channels, most of which I never watch. The price for the entire package is $2.00 a month.
Something dosn't seem right on this pee-pee contest between TW and the NFL.
1. Some cable providers don't have it as a basic channel. The NFL doesn't seem to mind. What is their problem with TW?

2. I got the NFL Network and 14 other channels for only $2.00. My cable provider is small compared to the big boys, yet they can offer NFL and 14 others for only $2.00.

It is time for TW and the NFL to make a comprommise and be done with it. They are both looking like the greedy bad guy now.

P.S. I left Time Warner solely so I could have the NFL Network.

I have had Direct TV for 6 Years, and I have only had 3 instances where I lost signal, and we can get some thick clouds here in Colorado.

You did not have your dish aligned correctly if you have this problem. Sure, if it rains tremendously hard, it may be out for 10 minutes. Like the poster above, this has only happened to me about 5 times in the past 8 years. How many times has your cable been out in 8 years? I bet it was for more than 10 minutes also.

Directv is the way to go, especially with Sunday Ticket.

We had Charter.

I had NFL network the year before and after the pre-season I did not see the need for it.

So I cancelled it.

Now I went to get it again for preseason and this time for the whole season as it seems as they might get some games.

Well Sudden Link bought Charter and they don't have the contract with the NFL so I am SOL...however they "say" they are trying to get it so we will see.

Dide, I'm not sure where you are, but I've watched my DTV in rain, hail and pretty good snowstorms with absolutely no problem - perfect picture.

As the president of my homeowners association, I simply tell any homeowner to put the dish on the back side of the house and that is cool. I believe it is the homeowners decision to make wether they want cable or dish. Hopefully the person you will be dealing with will be as understanding.

I, too, have DirecTv, but in reviewing this years schedule on NFL Sunday Ticket the Cowboys have only 9 of their 16 games on the NST! The other 7 games are either Monday or Sunday nites, Thanksgiving, etc. At $209 for the 'Ticket' that comes out to $23.22 a game..............and if you want HD and the added 'junk' that comes with it, another $100! Yikes! My wife says I am 'one damn, poor old man who sure loves his Cowboys'. Right again......ARE WE READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?. Here I have the Minnesota Vikings training camp only 5 miles from my house (they have been training here in Mankato, MN, for at least 28 years) and I have gone to one training day but it was a good one. I have a friend who lives just south of Tucson, AZ, who used to be one of their chief accounting people and he came to town and introduced me to all the coaches, trainers, etc during the practice sessions. Jerry Byrnes, who was the HC at the time, even invited us out for a beer or two after the evening practice. It was a good time listening to all those old guys tell great stories about their times in the NFL!.:)
