I know this is from out of left field but it seems to me that the offense has really been dumbed down the last few weeks even outside of the great defenses we've played. The playcalling has been very vanilla and it seems to me that as we get closer to the playoffs the more predictable our offense has been. Is it possible that Jerry has given the order to make the situation favorable to force Romo's return? I like Romo as much as anyone but this seems unfair to me. I could be wrong but tell me the offense has been the same as before we clinched the playoffs... Sorry but I'm wearing my tinfoil hat. :D
I'm guessing that Minnesota and New York's defenses are in on the conspiracy, too...Mara is no doubt the driving force behind this...

I thought that the one TD play that they had vs NY was a very clever play. Executed well too.
Fake toss sweep with multiple tiered routes over the middle.

It may be why they thought they could pull off the actual toss sweep late the game under similar distance (2nd and 10 vs 3rd and 11)
Yes, it was awesome. All the safeties bit. I'd love to see some more similar plays.

3rd and 11... Toss to Zeke :(

Ridiculous. The thing is that if you can't run a simple play and gain 5 yards how are you going to run anything more. The fake pitch play on the TWill td didn't look predictable. That was the only drive we actually moved the ball. If Dak is struggling it's because he is struggling. Nothing more nothing less.

It's been pretty predictable all year but we have thrown in more wrinkles this year than probably the last 5 years combined.

They need to get better on 3rd downs. That's the difference the past few weeks and we need more explosive runs of 10+ yards IMO.

Defenses will press and blitz us. It's gave Romo all kinds of fits in the past so you can bet it will confuse a rookie.

Our coaches have got to give Dak easy answers to the press and blitz question.
We had blitz problems way for this year. I remember one year, some team blitz Romo so much, it just felt like we didn't have any offensive line at all. We never figured it out. And now teams are doing it again, what will we do?

Its frustrating..

Our answer to everything under Garrett has been:

1: Running the ball

2: Our QB making some kind of play with his feet.

Just figure out how to beat the stupid blitz already.

I think if we were 2-11 we would have way much less drama that what we see now .. The most miserable fan base of a team sitting at 11-2

Expectations are high.

We wait sometimes years for moments like this year. The fans understand the opportunity these players have probably more than most of the players on the team do.

Are we overreacting as a fan base? Absolutely.

But I think our fan base has been put through it so many times since 95 that we just expect the worst.

We need a championship and we won't panic as much for awhile but you go over 2 decades without one and this is the environment you create.

Offense becoming exposed has been a consistent theme here.. it wasn't in 2014 though when Romo exploded after I believe Murray tires a little..

Also in this case, Zeke ran for close to 86 yards the first half.. so saying the team dumbed things down is hard to argue unless defenses normally give up 86 yards to a RB in a half..

just saying...

Giants benched their rookie safety immediately after that play.. I'm assuming they thought nobody should have been fooled or at least enough that the safety, whose only responsibility was to cover the WR coming out of the backfield, wouldn't leave him all alone..

If somebody could come over and punch me in the face really hard for reading this, that would be great. Thanks.

You probably disserve a good punch in the face in spite of reading this.

A big part of this is that the fans want to see the team going into the playoffs playing strong and not struggling. We want the team to go into the playoffs with a winning spirit and positive momentum. There is a big mental aspect to sports and good mojo goes a long way. Being over positive can also get you but if you are zoned in with a good winning attitude and ready to give it your all, wins happen. Being cocky which I see a lot of (teams are starting to mock one of our players giving them more determination to neutralize him) and being positive and confident are 2 different things.
