I realize no one is really trying to knock Mo but he is probably one of the larger CBs in the league that plays a lot of man coverage. As you get bigger, it becomes much harder to have those elite change of direction skills and that is why there aren't many big corners in the league who play that style.
The big plus that Mo has is arm length - 33 inches. I think that's a more typical arm length for a guy who is 6-3 or so than a guy who is 5-11 and it really allows him to get his hands in there to deflect balls that other CBs cannot reach.
I've always questioned the decision to go up and get Mo because I've never seen him as a lockdown kind of CB and have questioned his deep end speed and recovery speed because he isn't Deion, Rod Woodson or Champ Bailey in that respect. The big thing about him was always supposed to be ball skills. He came up as a WR and apparently tracks the ball really well and has good hands. This past year he had only one INT which came on a Cam Newton popup. I do think he got robbed of one in Atlanta on a OPI and I think he also got robbed in Chicago, too. I do want to see more INTs and hopefully the scheme change with more zone and more QB pressure will allow that aspect of his game to shine through.
I do like the camaraderie on that clip. I especially like it when there is camaraderie across the whole team but especially between offense and defense. That is what makes a cohesive team that can fight through adversity and play hard for each other.
I think the coaches are doing a great job with the guys the FO is providing.
