Coaching matters. Front office really matters. They got a great coach and they are stuffing the cupboards with actual players while we have Warren Buffett at gm who wants to save all this money for 'our own players' who are struggling to make the playoffs.

Most guys on their couch could draft a first rounder. Strong teams are built by finding/developing (and sometimes signing) guys from later rounds.

I was told by some on here that those rounds don't really count when grading a draft because most of them don't make the team. Which is ludicrous. Like you said, the later rounds absolutely matter and we are still pathetic at those. Which is why we have zero depth.
