OK – we heard you.

Let me ‘splain why you’re argument is not resonating.

Yes, some of the teams we have beaten are lousy.

But look at the way we’ve beaten them.

45 – 35

37 – 20

34 – 10

35 – 7

Our margin of victory: 10 pts, 17 pts, 24 pts, 28 pts (Nicely growing each and every week). If the Boys were winning by only 1-3 points every week, the Nervous Nancies might have had a salient point.

Our team is not just beating lesser competition, our boys are dominating them (how much greater a margin of victory would you want?).

Physically, our players are literally beating other teams up – look at the injuries mount on the other sideline every week.

Our QB has stoopid-good numbers.

Our team is closing strong in the 4th quarter of every game.

Our defense is starting to gel.

With each passing game, the team's confidence grows like a prize fighter knocking down tomato-can opponents.

With 3 key starters out much of the past 4 weeks, playing through injuries, we’ve done exactly what elite teams do – they not only beat the teams they are supposed to: they dominate lesser competition.

It’s starting to look an awful lot like the early nineties around here again. Remember the team's confidence level back then? (If not, go watch some of the America's Game reruns).

So, Nervous Nancies: take a Zoloft, understand that our team is consistently performing beyond expectations, and eventually you will come to believe exactly what most of us are seeing this team start to believe – the Cowboys are a top-tier NFL elite team.

Why is it that most say ,"On any givin day any team in the NFL can beat any team"
Then when WE Do it's different. The teams are inferior.

Oh Yea, I almost forgot, I'll embrace the Hatred.;)

Agreed.

You're supposed to dominate bad teams, not just beat them.

I could really care less about the nervous folks, if you aren't going to enjoy the win on Sunday, then what are you doing pretending to be a football fan?

Maybe you'd be better off cheering at a pre-school show and tell, there aren't any winners or losers there.

I'm still worried about the defense.

Eli's Giants are still by far the best we've faced, and we were barely a speed bump. And I consider them a slightly better than average O at best. No one else we have faced even rates.

Yes, we are dominating some of these teams. But the only decent O we have faced was a shootout.

Kudos to us for taking care of business so far. I certainly think we are among the class of the NFC for our offense alone. But talk to me after week 6 about whether we are a true elite team.

For the record, I think we'll show well against NE. Just want to see that game before I completely homer out. :)

to be an elite team you got to beat the good teams.. you only play the tems on your schedule...

thereofre it goes to reason we need to see the cowboys play a great team to see how we measure up..

remember the comment that said teams might make the play offs at 8-8? to me that means the teams around the cowboys have gotten worse...

I am sure our teams in the past with our talent.. could have beaten injuried teams..

once again don't fear playing a good team.. Look forward to us playing the best an still winning!!!

Anyone who says we haven't beaten anyone of consequence is an idiot. There are many reasons why:

1) It's week 4 and the only people of consequence are Indy, Patriots, Green Bay, and Dallas everyone else is of no consequence.
2) The reason people we have beaten are of no consequence are because we have beat them. If we lost they would be of consequence and we would have lost to them.
3) Not only do our wins have a consequence, but they usually end up in 2-6 starters of the opposing team getting injured. Resulting in them losing more games and becoming less consequential.

We are 4-0 and in our division, consequence or not, thats still a nice week 4 lead on our rivals.

Sorry, that's just wrong.

Miami just got rolled by Oakland. Chicago just lost to Detroit. The Rams are missing most of their starting O line, Steven Jackson and their QB was playing with broken ribs.

I'm not saying we haven't taken care of business - we have. We are certainly a team to be reckoned with right now. Today in particular is the type of game we have traditionally blown the last couple of years.

But lets be realistic. 3 of the 4 teams we have beaten have been terrible this year, and the Giants are beat up. Doesn't take anything away from what we have done, but its truth.

4-0 in our division?

Wilee! Good to see you, dog.

I do miss our heated logical battles back in the "Political Zone" days. Was it not you who kept trying to convince me that the economy was heading for disaster despite month after month of encouraging data?

Sometimes the signs are pretty clear.

When you win four-in-a-row in this league, it is a pretty significant accomplishment. We are beating "lousy" teams by huge margins of victory.

The signs are there (just as they were for the economy 5-6 years ago).

A for me, I will remain bullish!

And you my friend.

And no, I never said the economy was headed for disaster, only that the gap between corporate earnings and worker wages continues to diverge. And it does. Bush's precious Immigration reform will only make that worse.

That said, I am not taking anything away from what we have done.

I'm only acknowledging that Miami is terrible, St Louis is extremely banged up, Chicago is over-rated, and the Giants may be the best team we have played and offensively they owned us.

I'm sorry, we haven't played a very good team yet in my mind. Winning in Chicago is great but they are clearly not what they were last year.

Again, that does NOT mean we are not good. Naturally beating the lesser teams handily is a trademark of all good teams, and I'm encouraged. I'm just saying that the argument that we haven't beaten anyone good is generally true - we haven't.
