Primarily money is the reason. True enough, I wouldn't say he's a franchise guy worth spending long term deals on (or was worth it), but free agency dictates you cut away players in decline if you have any sense as a personnel guy. He was in the twilight of his career here anyway, so his departure was likely due more to that than any fragile egos. I've never known a WR that wasn't an egomaniac, so what is so different about TO?

At any rate, you can hardly ignore his performance while in Dallas. If you want to argue character, probably best to talk about something besides professional sports. After all, there's still posts lamenting the departure of a player who, in a drunken stupor, killed another teammate. Be assured that if TO could still play, he would be on a team in the NFL...regardless of his personality.

Money was *not* the primary reason. I don't want to ignore his performance in Dallas, either. I'm just taking into account his performance both on game day and the rest of the time he was here, because I'm not blind to the obvious rolling circus of me-first dysfunction that cat brings with him everywhere he goes.

Guy was a great talent and an awful teammate. IMO he alone ruined any chance the Romo/Wit/Ware core had to win a championship.

He's been saying that for years. I think he can physically do it, but his hands are terrible.

I don't think he can. The mind always thinks it can do what the body can't. TO is not NFL caliber any more.

If he hadn't burned so many bridges, he would be a great receivers coach or strength and conditioning coach.

Think of how many tens of millions of dollars Terrell Owens flushed down the drain in endorsement deals. He had the looks, charm, and professional accomplishments. I do not know if he could have entered the stratosphere of a Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods. Very few NFL players ever become that widely sought after spokepersons. But he could have easily competed as the face of the National Football League. Literally. Sad. He was always too stupid to realize his own nonsense hurt him the most. Even Steve Mariucci tried talking sense into the guy early in his career and failed. So much blasted money. Gone. POOF! Crazy.
