Today is the 36th anniversary of the Dallas Cowboys/Vikings Herchel Walker

Emmitt drove the 90's Cowboys. I don't think they win a super bowl just without him.

People always point to the offensive line but that doesn't give 22 enough credit. Emmitt was fantastic at setting up blocks and always found a way to hit the right hole and did so quickly. When Emmitt's back up was in, the O line frequently didn't look nearly as good.

We just need to make another big trade to get us over this 30 year hump, that GB was the trade of the century!!!

I thank a Vikings fan every time I get the chance. I let them know we could have never built that dynasty without them. :)

Raise your hand if you think Dallas still wins at least one Super Bowl without the trade.......

Here is a refresher of players involved in case you forgot......pretty sure there are a few posters who weren't living

It was a great trade but people talk about it as if the whole team was built on it. It for sure is the greatest trade of all time and brought talent so I don’t want to belittle it but that Cowboys era had so much talent.

Yeah I’ve gotten in arguments with people about that. I think people think a great offensive line means you don’t get touched until after 5 yards or something like that or it’s wide open holes all game. Not the case. A great offensive line carries over to the playoffs but you still get tackled at the line of scrimmage is get sacked.

Yet Jerry thinks he outdid the Walker deal with his latest trade that sent Micah to the Packers.

Jerry was lucky to have Jimmy and Bob Ackles building that team. Nothing in the last 30 years tells me he could have pulled that off.

The Cowboys could repeat that trade and make it mean just as much:
Trade Dak and get a bunch of picks for him.
The Cowboys are guaranteed to win that trade, even if all they get are janitors and lawn care technicians in return.
Just getting rid of Dak would be a great deal for the Cowboys.
It would be the most important trade in franchise history.

Maryland was the only pick we missed on. That's not to say he was a bust. He was a good player, however, I expected a true Superstar with that number 1 pick. Somebody like Haley that can take over a game. The other three examples were the NFL GOAT RB, Cowboys GOAT tackler, and a very good CB.

No way we get those Super Bowls without the trade. Smith and Woodson are all-time greats. Hope we get something out of this Parsons trade, too!

0-2 in 1993 before he was signed, including losing to the 4-12 Washington team and the Bills who Dallas would later beat by 17 in the SB

Ancient history.
That's like 3rd world Egypt living on building the pyramids.

So do I, and I also thank a Steelers fan, because if they didn't accept our trade offer during the 1990 draft, we wouldn't have gotten Emmitt.

It was a rebirth for the Cowboys , it was.
I was a mere lad, battered by the awful Landry (Latter) years.
Then Jimmy shook things up and voila!
Walker trade revived a dynasty!
