I watched todays game at a local bar that had it on one of their DLP projectors with another cowboys fan i met there. Other than us, the WHOLE BAR was packed with Giants fans. I mean the ENTIRE bar.
Andre Gurode and Torrin Tucker are pieces of dirt that have no business being on an NFL Roster. I will not be satisfied as a 'Boys fan until we are RID of both of those excuses for offensive linemen.
Drew Bledsoe, as I both feared and predicted, has done exactly what many of us knew he would do. Sure, he started fast this year, just like he did in 2002, but has tailed off and has now started crashing in the 2nd half of the season and he's taking our offense with him. The guy is just nothing more than a mediocre QB. Good and great QBs make the plays when you need them to, even if they are getting pounded into the turf all game long. Drew was being pounded into the turf, but instead of making the plays, he continued to hop around like a godd*mned rabbit in the pocket and hold the ball and wait and wait and wait....this is the Bledsoe that NE felt comfortable in letting go, and this is the bledsoe that Buffalo couldnt wait to get rid of. I stand by my original prediction. 20 tds, 15 ints are what Drew will end up with. And with that, our offense will sputter against the skins and the panthers.
Hats off to our defense. Aaron Glenn, getting along in years, losing a step and being a midget, played lights out. Pass rush looked good at times when zimmer actually called a blitz. Ware came up pretty big, spears was mostly silent, Chris Canty played well. Our D matched NY's D almost play for play and held their vaunted offense to 10 points and 250 yards, and forced their young anointed-as-the-2nd-coming QB into 2 ints and several bad throws. This is one area of the team, save for FS and maybe LB that will NOT need fixing next season.
Offensive play calling was, well, offensive. I am sincerely starting to believe that sean payton is ********. Brilliant, passing on a critical 3rd and 1. Im not sure how much of the game he calls or how much parcells calls (if he does at all), but we need some new blood on the offensive side of our coaching staff. Hopefully someone will offer payton a job so we can be rid of him finally. Why do you think New York let him go? Why do you think Fassel took playcalling duties away from him? This is why.
This team will NOT make the playoffs. WILL NOT. If you all dont like it, and think that its chicken-little, get your freaking heads out of the sands. Our offense has been pants the 2nd half. We have forgotten how to run the ball. Julius Jones has been a bust this season. There, I said it. A bust. He's 100% healthy, and he's playing like THam. In other words, sucking arse. He's got exactly 4 games to turn it around or we need to be thinking RB in next years' draft. There is no way we eke out more than 2 wins vrs. the likes of KC, WSH, Carolina, St. Loius. StL looks like a gimme, but Carolina is a definite LOSS and so is either KC or WSH. This team goes 9-7 and misses the playoffs. What a joke. 7-4, first place in the division and misses the playoffs at the final gun.
