I think that player is Talib.

He got ripped pretty good on NFL Live tonight.

Yeah, a lot of people don't like Talib. I think he's a late first round/early second round talent, but I understand how people could be apprehensive about him. However, if I were running a draft board I wouldn't even consider touching Jenkins until the second, and there would have to be a considerable number of CBs already off the board.

Thanks, bro.

Man... I was hoping we could get him in round 3, but it's looking more and more like he'll be gone by then.

I really, really think he's going to be a star or close to it.
I'd be really surprised if he didn't get taken by the end of Saturday. But it's the draft and darn near anything can happen.

If we are on the clock at 61 and the WR position had not been addressed yet, I have him on my very short list.

Dex could become a very good wr, but he has to work on his route running. I've seen him a lot seeing how I go to App. So i'm all for Dex to join our team.

Talib's a guy that's going to be a fan favorite at the next level. He'll get highlight reel INTs and TD returns, but he'll also give up too many plays to be worth his draft rating.

No. It sounds A LOT like.......

I saw Talib and heard Talib first hand up here. I just don't want him.

I only saw him play twice, once was in that Orange Bowl game where he had that pick for a TD...course he also gave up several easy completions too

I really dont have an opinion on him, he isnt at the top of my wish list however

boo-hoo ;)

btw, Mayock's WR rankings look like this

1. Devin Thomas
2. DeSean Jackson
3. Limas Sweed
4. Mario Manningham
5. Jordy Nelson

I don't get how Sweed is rated so much higher than Monk when if you compare the two they are almost identical in terms of measurables and production. I guess it was the types of offense the teams ran....?

That probably has a lot to do with it. I think Monk has some injury concerns as well. IIRC, he also missed some time last year. Two knee surgeries surpasses a nagging wrist in most cases.

I've jumped on the Monk bandwagon. Take him in the 3rd!

I've been on the Monk bandwagon myself and I think he has just as much of a shot to make a good pro as Sweed does. If a team does take him in the 3rd, I think they'll be getting one helluva value.

If you get the chance, watch the K-State game from this year. Jordy Nelson just abused him all game. Made Tablib look completely lost. Wasn't the only time that happened either.

I'm not sure that's too far off base actually. However if we're drafting him at pick 28 or so I don't think it would be unrealistic for him to just project as a #2 CB. Hall was drafted around top 5 if I recall so obviously he's expected to be a shutdown #1. But I don't think we'd have so much invested in taking Talib that we would have to force him into that role if he couldn't handle it. I know whenever you take a player in the first you hope he can be THE guy, but really if he's starting and contributing at any position then you're doing alright.

I'd rather take a guy who I was confident in being able to be a #2 CB than take a guy like Jenkins or McKelvin who others are projecting as a #1 CB.

Personally I think his coverage skills are overrated. Yes he does a good job of rerouting WRs, but if the WR gets a clean release or counters his jam then Jenkins ends up in trouble more than you like to see. He's a player I'd be very wary of, probably the most overrated CB in the class in my eyes.

Anytime that a CB misses his jam it ends up with a burned CB. that is nothing special. thats like saying anytime a corner falls down he gets burned more than youd like to see.

It comes down to how well he jams at the line of scrimmage.

Not necessarily. CB's can recover depending on the route and I don't see Jenkins as being a player with loose enough hips to quickly turn if his jam is beat and make that recovery. Obviously on a quick route no CB is going to have time to recover, but on something deep to intermediate the corner can definitely get back there. A lot depends on the throw, but I've definitely seen corners recover and make plays after having their jam defeated. Teams wouldn't jam if it was just a foregone conclusion that the corner would get beat if his jam wasn't effective, it'd be too high risk.
