Posted a long time ago we should draft Drew Lock....

He was 4-1 as a starter for the Broncos and looks to have a bright future, everything you would want from a QB

Wen oils have got him for nothing and paying him peanuts.....now we are stuck with this Dak mess

I'm willing to give you a shot as GM.

You're at least as qualified as the two that attempt it now.

I think the Broncos were the only ones that saw it.

Yeah when you tell us this? Reminds us lol. Not only that but Drew Lock is in by no means a qualified quarterback in this league right now. Premature gloating going on here.

Another example of using team record as justification of QB play. Lock had an 89.7 rating in his five starts. Here, that probably would have resulted in 1-4. (In comparison, Dak had a 99.7 rating for the season.)

The same Broncos who beat Jerry to the punch for Paxton Lynch, proving once again that drafting QBs is a crap shoot.

I still remember JJ lamenting that missed opportunity on day two of the draft (the same day he drafted Dak). :muttley:

Can we dissect his performance to see the competition he played, quality of defenses he faced, etc? You know, sort of how Dak’s performances are dissected?

The guy wanted Manziel and Lynch.

People ought to take a step back and think if they truly want to scrap Prescott and let Jerry go fishing for the next QB.

I didn't watch Lock play... But Aikman was often in that rating area for most of his career. But the difference maker plays were there. Another example of stats meaning little.

And Dak was 13-3 and got rookie of the year, whats your point?

If anything we should have traded back for future draft picks and picked up Henry in the 2nd round but now look at the overpaid mess we’re stuck with.

Well I said we should have drafted Tom Brady. I mean we had 5 chances to do so but no one listen, lol.

Very good comparison for two teams that havent a clue when it come to drafting QB success, but the donks did pay for a ring when they hired PM so at least they got that right.

Back then, that rating was good. Now, if you're not in the upper-90s to 100s, you're average at best ratingswise.

I do agree that there are other factors that have to be considered, but more so with win-loss. You can't tell how well a QB played by the team's record. A good team needs much less from its QB than a bad one.

I really wanted Paxton Lynch and think under the right coach that can develop QBs he would have been good. Not as good as Dak but in that 15-20 range.

Definitely right about team records not being QB stats.

But I suspect Lock’s rookie numbers would have been WAY higher than they were if he was surrounded by Dallas’ offensive talent.
For all we know, the team could've been 5-0. All speculation...from both ends.

Tell you what though....I think Denver helped out their OL in this draft, and they have some weapons also...

Lock could be a nice bus driver.

Lotsa luck in the same division as Mahomes for the next decade, but sure...

In other words, he more than made up for it by drafting Dak
