Without several HOF players Landry and Jimmy are just regular coaches too.

I don't know about "just regular coaches," but you certainly can't win without a talented roster. I don't hold it against Belichick that he needed Brady to win because then I'd have to do that with every coach who had a great QB.

To me, it's a little like the offensive line argument with Emmitt Smith. Some want to downgrade him because of the line in front of him, but other top running backs also had All-Pro linemen blocking for them.

He was for sure, but he had Montana……same argument can be said for him like they do with Brady and Belicheck (both of which would be ridiculous, both are stellar coaches). Belicheck is a brilliant D coordinator, like one of the best of all time…..not sure why some people hate on him like they are now acting like he was a scrub and any success was because of Brady. Not the best at drafting, but as far as coaching D and the team as a whole, absolutely a HOFer.

As good as BB was at defense Bill Walsh was the consummate Offense Genius .

I am certainly against cheating and I have no problem with anyone being held accountable. My issue is that he & the Patriots were punished for spygate. I believe they were probably guilty of deflate gate but don't think the league came to that conclusion and thus no punishment (if memory serves). IF the Hall of Fame had language in place or put it in place at the time these issues were happening saying that league punishment for certain actions would impact eligibility, then i would be fine with delayed entry into the Hall. But to best of my knowledge, they did not. This is simply a handful of voters who are being activist. Not just my opinion but Jimmy Johnson was quite clear and he should have a very good feel for it.

So, if you are going to take this stance then Brady or no other player for the Patriots during those years should be eligible for first ballot. Nor should any coach or player from any other team (like Bountygate). Do you really think they will delay Brady as well?

Be uniform, consistent & upfront. Not last minute actions that NO ONE anticipated.

One last point, everyone has always tried to steal signs. They just took it to a new level that everyone agreed crossed the line.

Normally the voters aren’t personally recognized whether it’s HOF, MVP, etc.

There is the possibility these voters favored 3 older players which this was last year of eligibility .

Everyone knows who the voters are and guys like Bill Polian have an axe to grind against Belechek. It feel like inside the HOF voters is a good ol' boys club that wields influence in the shadows.
