Also, it makes the league look like a fickle 14 year old girl who can't make up her mind. First the game might be in Houston, next it's moved to Dallas with a bunch of announcements and talk of donating proceeds to relief efforts, and now it's called off. Of course this is also the same league (and venue) that couldn't figure out how to get everyone their allotted seats at the Super Bowl a few years back.

Something tells me this was not a "league" decision. Rather, I believe the two teams both recognized how meaningless this game would be.

The game itself is the anticlimax of the preseason. Most starters would sit this one out, and any coaching staff who needed this game to make any kind of evaluations must have been napping through the last five week.

I believe this was a decision born out of concern for the travel, not the game itself. Specifically, it was the Texans having to find a way to get out of Houston, and putting those people in danger by having them out on the roads. No amount of money is worth that risk.

This was a logistics problem.

People work those games. Security, concessions, ticketing, stadium personnel on all fronts. They also have other jobs, and they can't just drop everything because the Cowboys decided to play a game on Thursday.

Too much liability if the stadium isn't properly staffed.

Plus, there's the nightmare of ticket purchases and prep for a game, processing, etc.

Silly if there is no danger in playing the game. What is it going to hurt?

How about the danger of just getting out of Houston? The danger of the Texans having to get their equipment to Dallas?

I don't know about that. But people might like some distraction from the suffering for a few hours too. There is nothing wrong with that.

Well, the Houston players will get to be with their families in their time of need and we won't have to be concerned with additional injuries. It definitely appears to me, all things considered, as though this was quite possibly best result to be had for both teams. I think we were lucky.

Had to wait for weather to clear. Runways were under water.

Big Dog I have no idea why the airport has anything to do with their decision. It is Wednesday and this was known since Monday that this is probably going to be the biggest national disaster in our country's history.

It should have been canceled as of Monday morning in RESPECT to the millions of lives that are effected. Imagine the anxiety that every member of that team, from players to front office to the equipment guys are going through wondering about family, friends and possessions. On top of that they have not been home in like three or more weeks.

To wait was only motivated by money.

The Texans had been in NO/DAL since their game in NO over the weekend

They were going to just stay in DAL and play tomorrow but a safe route to Houston opened and the team decided to go home and TCB immediately

They all wanted to get HOME to Houston, not out of Houston
