Earlier today on ESPN radio they mentioned that Tony Dungy will become the 6th person to both play in the Superbowl and be a head coach in the Superbowl. They kind of messed up because they said he played with the Cowboys in their win over the Steelers in SBXIII. It got me to thinking of who the other guys were.

I came up with 3 of the remaing 5 off the top of my head. I think I got the right guys and teams, but I can't think of who the 4th and 5th guy might be. I only remembered the guys with Cowboy connections.

Dan Reeves(Cowboys player, Broncos/Falcons coach)
Forest Gregg(Packers/Cowboys player, Bengals coach)
Mike Ditka(Cowboys player, Bears coach)

Maybe the announcer on ESPN mis-spoke, but I am sure someone on this board knows the answer. Another guy I thought of was Raymond Berry, but looking it up he didn't play in a Superbowl.

Well, off the top of my head, I'm going to say Jeff Fisher with the Bears and Tom Flores with KC.

What do I win?

I didn't think of Fisher at all, but I don't think he played with the Superbowl Bear's team. I think his playing days ended before that season. I

am too young to remember Flores playing career and since he has no Cowboys ties, he never came to mind until you mentioned it.

Doing some research I found Sam Wyche played with Washington in 1972 when they faced the Dolphins and coached the Bengals in 1989.

Fisher has a ring from the Bears 85 team the destroyed NE. He was a punt returner but I think he went on IR that year so maybe they don't consider him. Flores was on the roster of the Chiefs 69 team that defeated the Vikings.
I thought of Sam Wyche but since you said you only needed two, I didn't look him up as I figured the other two satisfied the requirement. I guess that would mean that there are 7.

The Bears official site has Fisher listed as playing from 1981-1984. He just missed out on playing for teh 1985 team. He may have been an assistant coach at the time. I am not sure.

That is wrong. He has a ring as a punt returner. Let me see what I can find.
