and it's boring to watch. It might be a work in progress that pays off later, I'm not sure. I just can't stand to watch it. It looks pathetic right now. Garret game planned for this, is he trying to make Tony a true pocket passer? Look at the play calls, 15-20 yard pass plays downfield that take a long time to develop, with 5 step drop backs, multiple reads, etc. I have never seen Romo sit in the pocket for so long, especially when there is nobody open. I thought we got rid of Bledsoe?

Tony Romo is not that style of quarterback (yet anyway). Are they trying to change his style to limit INT's? All I'm saying is there seems like there was a game plan from Garret to keep Romo in the pocket and it didn't work. So where do you go from here? Do you stay with it and hope he gets better at it or just abandon it right away and start moving Romo around, free him up, let him scramble, let him sling it and hope for limited turnovers?

IF thats what they are trying to do ...... then they should all be fired immediately.
Its one thing to protect the ball better ..... its another to mess with the way a probowl QB plays.

None of this is relivant once you look at the way Tony is throwing the ball though. Tony is missing wide open receivers and that has nothing at all to do with the play calling.

I will also mention that on both plays at the end of the game, Tony went to Hurd. If you rewatch both of those plays, you will see Miles open on the other side. Same exact plays, both times Tony throws to Hurd and you can see Miles is pissed. I don't blame him. He was open for 6 on both plays but Tony never looked at him.

I don't believe that is the case. I believe his "style" of play is being changed by the conditions he finds himself in. No longer does he have a super threat WR, and, in my opinion, it is showing. Now, they might be able to offset that with our potent running game, and only time will tell throughout the rest of this season. But right now, when they show the replays, it doesn't look to me like he has many guys running open on their routes. He then holds the ball longer, and bad stuff happens.

You are correct on these observations.

Do you really blame him for not paying any attention to Austin after his mistake took points off the board earlier in the half?

then he should have run the right route earlier and not caused tony to throw an int.

tony was just trying to reward the guy that got him their...and that was hurd on the 4th and 3 scramble. either just cause romo didnt trust miles at that point or maybe he doesnt trust him at all and wants hurd as the #3 guy i cant blame him really.

Tony is not changing his style of plays. Go back and rewatch Tony's games, this is who Tony is as a QB. Sometimes it effects the game negatively sometimes it does not, but these "flaws" in his game are always there, always, even when he is dominating you can see their roots. Go watch the Tampa Game where everyone was sure Tony was going to lead us to the promise land, you can see the poor passes, the throws behind or high, the slowness in gettin people up to the huddle (may not be tony's faul idk), the locking in to one reciever, etc. It is all there. This has nothing to do with changing his style of play, unless he has been changing it for the past two seasons. (which may be the case but i dont think thats what you are talking about here)

Thats a great way to be a leader...

A WR runs a wrong route.....banish him.....I will not throw his way again...even if it will win the game for us.....

funny....but we accused TO making Romo force the ball to him....yet now...Romo is deciding that.....well....Hurd got us there......I must throw him the ball twice against one of the best CB's in the league....

I wonder if Romo changes running plays because the play before a OL missed a block?

amazing....

I don't think we can win consistently with this "close to the vest" crap. Maybe when all three backs are healthy, but not on days like yesterday.

Well, let me think about this. On the one hand, I have Champ Bailey covering Sam Hurd man to man. On the other I have everybody else. Bailey on Hurd is not the best matchup on the field. Why would you go to it twice in a row when it's not open?

I don't know if the INT Bailey picked was Miles or Romo. I know this though. Had he looked at anybody else, he would have seen Miles open and we would probably have been playing in OT.

We went after their best corner with our fourth best receiver. Twice. Something to gnaw on.

QFT about austin being open to the left ABQ: Merril Hoge on ESPN said the SAME thing: he also said Romo doesn't throw left much anymore because he usually gets picked. romo is a MESS and even a washed up , oft concussed hack like Hoge knows the low down. romo is circling the drain IMO....

That's what has me worried,it seems Romo is regressing. It seems he should scan the field instead of locking onto Hurd.It seems his pocket awareness and his confidence are at an all time low.

This was the last play....Austin was open on the play before it as well...and he was open coming out of his break...both time...Romo never even looked in his direction.

Obviously all is not well in JerryLand. The question is; will they fix it before the season is lost.

Here's the way I see it and why I ain't giving up.

On this team the offense since TR started has been explosive. If the offense had to put up 40+ points to win, they could do it. Need to score a TD, travel the length of the field in 55 seconds? Give me Romo. Our defense stunk. Playing off 15 yards in the secondary was maddening. When we lost it was often the defense letting a team walk down the field and sometimes on rare occasions it was TR turning the ball over like he will do after 3 or 4 touchdowns.

Now, the defense started off horribly in game 1.
In game 2, they all but dominated in the run and sucked vs the pass.
Game 3 they played well vs the run and the pass.
Game 4 again they played strong vs run and the pass.
*note in game 2 and 4 they failed to stop a final winning drive by other team.
**note in game 2 TR turned the ball over 3 times and in game 4 we had nothing for offense so the way I see it, the offense really ****ed over our defense and put them in the hole time after time...

So finally; The offense which has been the strongest part of the Cowboy's team is now the weakest. The ST is quietly playing very well and the defense has shown much improvement from game 1 where it looked hopeless by making Byron Leftwich (the guy is so awful he's benched) look like a probowl candidate. (btw sorry to the Tampa fans who thought after game 1 they had an incredible team)
So the way I see it, if whoever is whispering in Romo's ear could please **** (Garrett) and let the guy be Romo we can get this thing righted real quick.
If the offense where playing at it's usual pace with Romo yeah we lose the game vs the Giants on his turnovers but he ALWAYS came back strong. Until now.
Now for the 1st time in a 2 game span he hasn't thrown a TD. And it shows. Because we ****ing lost. :laugh2:

Remember Cutler's start of the season vs Packers?
