I never see this guy take a 3 or 5 step drop from under center and get rid of the ball like the way Payton Manning does. He never looks comfortable in the pocket and always looks to bounce outside the pocket or step up, UP in the pocket, and I mean 2-3 steps up, not just one. He just doesn't look comfortable whatsoever. I have a feeling that is what holds him back and this team. Does anyone else see this or am I just nitpicking here.

Well, one of his advantages are his legs and this offense doesn't like to move the pocket with him. This doesn't negate the fact that he can throw from the pocket...

He is. But it's tough to be a successful pocket passer when the pocket collapses on you.

With no comittment to the run, defenses are pinning their ears back and bringing pressure.

there are 3 types of nfl qb's

pocket passer
scrambler
runner

tony has always been a scrambler. some of his highest metrics happen when he's on the run and flushed out of the pocket. they TRIED to make tony a pocket passer the last 4 seasons or so, and it has failed miserably.
