Drew Brees is off to Super Bowl XLIV. Brett Favre is off to retirement or a return but it's highly unlikely he will be at the Pro Bowl this week. So that leaves Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers as the only NFC quarterback standing for the NFL's all-star game.
Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb was the first alternate, so he gets the first call.
Will Tony Romo be called next?
We're not sure what alternate status Romo had after throwing 26 touchdowns and just nine interceptions to go with 4,483 yards. Arizona's Kurt Warner would be an option too, but he got banged around pretty good in the playoffs and would seem to pass on playing in this weekend's game.
It's kind of sad what's happened to the Pro Bowl with it being moved to the week before the Super Bowl. Maybe it's just a confluence of events but have you seen the AFC quarterbacks? No Peyton Manning, obviously. Tom Brady is out. So are Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers.
You're down to Matt Schaub, Vince Young and David Garrard. Really?
