Tony Romo thoughts

Dude you have no idea what you're talking about. The Cowboys have been a playoff team or in playoff contention every year in the Tony Romo era except last year when he was injured.

What does playoff contention infer in today's NFL? Every team performing to the .500 level is a potential player in the playoffs. That's the way the league has been the last decade. Hell, the current NFC East fight is proof and typical.

It infers the same thing as it did in the Landry era when we had 20 consecutive winning seasons, but not all of them as a contender.

Romo: 47-28 record as a starter. 4th best road winning % in NFL history.

Since we're posting statistics, please enlighten me with his NFC title game record?

The dude is 47-28 as a starter what more do you want from the guy? He's the best non super bowl winning QB in today's game hands down.

The same as Peyton Manning's. 0-0.

Actually, on the Romo topic, I went back and checked. You're right. You completely freaked out after the DET game, but that was understandable. Otherwise, you've been pretty fair with Tony.

I hate teh Jerrah

Yep, poked fun at his narrow minded stat.

I know your post was meant to be sarcastic. So was my response.

Narrow minded stat? I think it was a more legitimate stat than the 4th best road record for a non-SB winning QB while throwing right handed at elevations above sea level. How useless is that?

Romo apologists will continue to spout off nonsensical stats to defend him.

Stats show how well or bad a player performs genius.

Why don't you look up his win loss record the last 2 seasons?

Is that really fair considering he was injured half of the season? The last time Romo had a good of season like this was 2009 and we made the playoffs and won a playoff game. I'm not saying we'll make the playoffs, but if Romo continues to stay hot into the playoffs (like he did in 2009) and this defense could miraculously play like they did in the beginning of the season... watch out.

So, we're being selective in which stats we choose to recognize?

Wins and losses aren't indicative of an individuals play in a team sport. Tony didn't lose the Giants, Pats, Or Cardinals games. I blame Romo for the losses to Detroit and the Jets his ints were horrible.

Yes that is also a stat, however, that tells you how a TEAM is performing. This is not tennis. He has 52 teamates. His stats show over a period of time that he is one of the best. Top 5 in my opinion. Is Dan Marino no good because he didn't win enough?
