I agree. I hate the way the media latches onto comments like these because they just love throwing it back in that person's face if it turns out to be wrong.

(I'm not saying Romo is wrong, I just am talking the general attitude of the media towards athletes who dare display an ounce of self confidence)

And yet many in the media make predictions also, yet, when they don't pan out like they predicted, you really don't hear much thereafter.

I also find it somewhat amusing that when a player "guarantees" a victory, somehow people think that's bad or something.

"So, Tony, do you think you're going to win the game?"
"Well, no. We have absolutely no chance against the Giants. In fact, I expect to finish last in the division because every other team we play is better than we are."

I'm not sure I understand your question. How are they winning with Romo? We are talking about winning a super bowl, that hasn't happened yet. We haven't even gotten to the NFC championship game yet.

We have a brutally tough schedule and I don't think our offense will be able to cover up our defensive deficiencies without the same kind of power-running, move-the-chains type of running game.

I agree. Not saying it cant happen, but its a crapshoot thinking were going to get the next arian foster or jammal charles out of the this years draft and have that rookie performing at a high level come game 1 and 2.

Opinion? Eventually Romo will either be proven right or wrong about his proclamation. He's confident. He has a good team with good coaching. The draft may provide further upgrades to the roster. Free agency may still prove more fruitful between now and the regular season. Overall team health may endure the rigors of what looks to be a very competitive campaign this fall. Logically, Dallas has a good opportunity to fulfill Romo's prophecy. Only time will reveal the ultimate answer, hopefully in this franchise's favor.

I'm all for confidence but I hate these early predictions if that's what it was. I understand every team goes into a season with the "we will win it all" mentality but it's a fine line between confidence and an average Rex Ryan press conf or Eagles talking Dream Team. Glad tony is being little more outward with the confidence though
