injuries can happen on your first carry. to me, it's not about him getting injured its about wearing him down.

Right now Murray welcomes the carries if the staff feels the need to back him down some over the course of the season I'm sure they will. Much of it I think you have to gage on what your seeing and what the player is saying.

I think one of the factors is how many yards he is gaining before contact. The line is clearing the trash and he's getting in open field with corners and safeties alot. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing a few more carries from Randle and Dunbar(work on your pass protection).

I think that Murray dabbling in MMA gives him a lot more endurance and stamina than the typical RB.

MMA is all about teaching you to outlast your opponent and seriously focuses on endurance.

My buddy owns a BJJ studio in Allen and I've seen him beat all manner of guys, bigger, smaller, faster, stronger, etc. All because he outlasted them.

williams is not on the roster. you have to cut someone to move him to the roster. riding a guy into the ground could leave you without him late in the year in some very important games. i would limit his carries to around 20, especially in games you have a lead. randle will do just fine behind this line . maybe when we get everyone well we can find a way to move williams up form the ps. love the way he runs

That's why I was saying we could replace Dunbar seeing as they both don't pb well or play SP teams. But I hear you, no rush tbh.

I don't think number of carries is the problem with Murray getting hurt before, it was his running style trying to run over defenders. Emmitt was great in that he almost never had a direct hit on him, he would adjust his body or give a little move at the last milli second to avoid that killer hit. Also getting out of bounds on the sideline is not a bad choice rather than going for that extra yard if it is not necessary.

But you do want to get his touches to about 20-25 per game. he runs best when he gets in a groove. He is a weapon even when he doesn't carry the ball, the play action to him does wonders for the passing game. Let's just hope he can have a healthy full season cause if not, I think the Dunbar/Randall combo is not going to cut it against the strong teams like next week.

For the time being, his workload isn't a problem. Right now, Murray is providing an invaluable service to his team since Romo is still in the process of rehabbing from his back surgery. Once he's more stable and has fully recovered, there won't be as much need to maximize Murray's services. Presently, he is extremely healthy. If his condition were to become somewhat compromised later on, he could easily be used more sparingly.
