Too many suitors for Melton

With the Bears, Vikings, and Raiders (probably more) all bidding for Melton over the next couple days, it looks like he will be bid out of our price range. Which is really unfortunate.

I want Henry Melton, but I don't think you should break the bank for a free agent coming off a knee injury. Numbers this free agency have already been wild, and I'm sure Melton wants in on that. He's probably looking for at least 9 million a year, maybe even more than that.


Probably going to have to shift towards handling defensive line more in the draft than anything else. There should still be some free agents post June worth signing short term for cheaper.

Yes they can't compete to over pay for a dt. That isn't a bad thing. Would you rather compete and over pay for a player?

this is why i was advocating for signing joseph (got 5 yr 31 mill deal from vikings) at 1T in FA and then draft donald as 3T

We might as well put a budget team out on the field and open up as much cap space for whoever replaces Jason Garrett.

The only way to win with Garrett is if we are absolutely loaded at every single position because we will not out think or out scheme a single team we play.

Because our team's GM doesn't know how to sell the product. The product is the Dallas Cowboys with its big stadium and the stardom that comes with having a star on its helmet. All he knows how to do is overpay for players to come here despite being mediocre. Frankly, not a lot of FAs wants to come here because of our circus philosophy. Unless we pay them big money. Thus the reason why we aren't able to compete in bringing in top FAs.

Don't believe me? Michael Bennett signed a very cap friendly deal in Seattle. He wants to stay there because they have the right chemistry in building a championship team. We don't have the right chemistry here. We have a GM as a fool, a dumb head coach thats overrated, and a philosophy thats more about making money than winning championships. We are nothing more than a glorified 3 ring circus.

Given their commitments the Bronco's are headed for a one and done scenario. They win this year OR... they fall off the map yet again. Worse than mediocre.

With a real coach, yes, we are 1 change away.

The problem is we will probably just sign another puppet coach and you'll be right about it being all Jerry's fault.

Jerry is the ultimate problem but if we had a legit coach we could do a lot better with the players we have had instead of being so predictable and vanilla.
