I feel Parcells has let this team down in so many ways. Things that made all of us scratch our heads in the offseason (and after that) are all haunting us now.
1. Fans were screaming for a WR in the offseason. Even Jerry said it was his primary goal to find the next "playmaker". Parcells did not address it. Now, Glenn is our only threat at WR and teams have OFFICIALLY figured that out. Our other guys (keyshawn, Crayton, Copper) can't get open.
2. Fans were screaming for Parcells to address Right tackle and overall depth at both tackle spots. What does Parcells do? He sign a RG???? While Kareem McKenzie is blowing holes open for Shaun Alexander in Seattle...
3. Fans were screaming for a kicker. Nope. No kicker. Our kicking game has cost us at least 2 games (Denver and Seattle) for sure.
4. Fans have been screaming for Parcells to cut his conservative game planning. Keeping teams close has cost us a few games... i.e week 2 - Commanders.
5. Fans were screaming for us to plug Price into the game plan because of the tremendous big play ability he had with Bledsoe a year or two ago. Rumor is that Parcells didn't want him in the first place. It was Jerry Jones who insisted on it. So Parcells kept him on the bench - can you spell S-P-I-T-E?
6. Fans have been screaming to bench Tucker / Petiti. Nope! Again Parcells knows best and would rather have Tucker and Petit kill his QB with 7 sacks. For the love of God get Tucker out and plug in Colombo. Apperently, 1ST ROUND PICK Colombo is no where near the talent level of 6th rounder Petiti and undrafted Tucker. How dumb of me. No way would Tucker EVER suit up again for a team of mine. EVER!!!!!!!!!!
Parcells is too stuck in his ways. Too inflexible. He takes blame but won't change his ways. Very stubborn. Because this team is composed of so many 30 + year old veterans, our window will be very short and we will be rebuilding again in 1-2 years. ON the horizon we will be needing a new QB ( I like Drew but he won't be around forever), 2 new WRs, new LG, new RG, new RT, new LT, new DTs, one new DE.... Overwhelming when you think about it. I was excited about Parcells when he first came in but I did not realize how inflexible, stubborn, and set in his ways he really was. Not so sure he was the best thing for us for the long term.
Parcells did not ever want to come back to coaching. He wanted to assemble a team of veterans to go out and win for him. Coaching is when you take a talented kid like Henson, Romo, Peterman and Jones and make them into good / great players.
This whole post is all-for-not because I'm sure Parcells will come out with a conservative game plan this Saturday with Tucker and Petiti as our starting tackles. Can't wait for that game.
